Truluck's Ocean's Finest Seafood and Crab

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s Day, and it was a great experience, one on the workers even offered to take a picture of us. Very thoughtful staff, great service.

Disappointment. Yesterday I had dinner here with another couple. If you would have asked me my thoughts on Trulucks before my dinner I would have told you they were the standard, best service, best food, best atmosphere for a high end restaurant and one of the reasons I frequented here. How the mighty have fallen. You would have thought it was opening night. We sat at our table at 735pm, and did not get served water till 7:50pm. We Ordered a bottle of wine and it took the server 10 min to come to tell us they did not have it, we ordered a 2nd, that one took another 10 min to get to us. We did not get our first glass of win till 8:00pm. We finally were able to order food and ordered the famous crab claws, we did not get those for over 15 min, i.e. we did not get any food till 8:15 almost 45 min from sitting. Then we ordered our main dishes. As we waited we assumed they would bring over bread and butter as it is amazing. We were wrong, no bread came to the table. They brought our dishes, We got the seabass and the ahi tuna. The seabass was very good but the Ahi tuna was terrible, and could have gotten better quality at the local bar. We were just so fed up as it was past 9pm we just wanted to leave. Then out of nowhere someone drops tons of plates in the back, the whole restaurant heard it. No manager ever came to check on our table as well. I have to say there are many great restaurants in Austin, I am sad to see the one I used to believe was the best go down to the bottom of the list.

The food was 10/10. The lovely staff and the guys at the bar were amazing. Oh my the cocktail was great, just asked them for something nice and they will do the job. The world-class carrot cake for dessert will give you a taste of heaven on earth. It was delicious. Value for money or you can opt for the happy hour as well.

Just finished eating here and I am truly disappointed. I used to go to the one on 4th street and it was great. My steak was cold and fries were just as cold. My server could care less about recommendations. Do better.

Delicious salads & Manhattans. The service is stupendous! The singers & pianists are fantastic! A great place for conversing with friends, family, and dates. It's pricey & worth it. The salads & lobster bisque are excellent choices! The menus are lit nicely for ordering. The new location is luxurious & vast.

We had not been to the newest location on Colorado so we’re anxious to try and what a fantastic experience. We didn’t have a reservation so the hostesses were great and found us a table extremely quickly. The hospitality manager, Hector, made sure our drinks we ordered at the bar got delivered to our table. Our waitress, Nena, was amazing the entire evening between recommendations for drinks, appetizers, our dinner and desserts. She was so courteous and friendly. I forgot the name of the young gentleman that assisted in serving us but he made the incredible bread we were served and he was also very kind. We can’t say enough about the absurdly delicious meal but the whole dining experience was one of the best we have had anywhere! Just an overall wonderful time we had. As we left and were walking through the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, we could hear someone yelling behind us and I assumed it was someone that was inebriated but no, it was none other than Hector who chased us down to deliver the remainder of our dessert that we couldn’t finish and had forgotten. Unbelievable service throughout the whole night. Highly recommend this extraordinary restaurant!

The food was good, atmosphere was great, and the service was absolutely impeccable. I lost something valuable there and went back the next day….and Annie & Ruben came through for me by locating what I had lost! I just knew that it was gone, but they were determined to find it for me. Like I said, just great staff who provided great service beyond the meal. Annie and Ruben are true assets to this restaurant! Thanks so much!
