Generally, reviews of Truffle looked excellent so we thought we’d try it. Here is my review as a self proclaimed experienced and qualified diner/ reviewer: I found the three small meatball appetizer at $17.00 to be well overpriced. My entree of Filet Mignon and whipped potatoes served on a COLD plate is so inexcusable! ( even if the food was very good, the cold plate was so unprofessional!,,,and our entree of Fettuccine prepared table side in the cheese wheel with a few shavings of truffle at $55.00 to be a rip off gouge! Yes it was good but let’s face it, all the ingredients on the plate cost a total of not more than $2.00!!! The waitress was very nice and received a 25% tip on the overpriced meal. ( I never penalize a waiter for the mistakes and blunders of chef or owner). In closing, if the entree plates were warmed, and the meatballs and cheese wheel pasta was realistically priced I would have become a regular patron. There are too many better Italian restaurants around to waste money at Truffle again.

They over booked and gave us a rickety table, we were there for an hour and they still didn't come to get our orders so we left and went to eat next door

We had such a lovely experience here for my friend's birthday dinner! Food was delicious and good menu variety, atmosphere is cute (and surprisingly not too crowded for a Friday night in North Park), and our server Piper was wonderful, she even noticed it was a birthday celebration and brought out some complimentary cake!

Our visit to Truffle left much to be desired. Despite reserving the "Truffle Experience" through OpenTable, we were disappointed to discover upon arrival on February 14th that only a Valentine's Day fixed menu was available. When we inquired about the Truffle Experience we had booked, our waiter informed us that the kitchen was exclusively offering the Valentine's menu for the day. Arriving for our reservation at 6 pm, we were dismayed to find that several items from the Valentine's menu were already sold out, significantly limiting our dining options. One would expect a restaurant named Truffle to excel in showcasing truffle-infused dishes. However, the presence of truffles in our plates was disappointingly minimal. Opting for additional truffles at an extra cost of $15 per plate did little to enhance the flavor or value, as only a scant amount of shaved truffles adorned my pasta. While it is possible that the shortcomings were exacerbated by the Valentine's Day rush, the service was noticeably sluggish, and the kitchen appeared overwhelmed and disorganized. Surprisingly, tables seated after us received their orders much quicker, further adding to our frustration. In a redeeming gesture, our server Ricardo displayed kindness by offering us a complimentary glass of wine to compensate for the inconvenience

I was excited to try this place, but everything we had was below average. My bf made valentines reservations and he had asked for seating by the window, and hostess said they would clean a table that was available so waited about 5-10 mins outside which was no big deal. They seated a few more and then had us follow her…we got seated in the back where the wait staff had to keep going in and out of the wine closet. All this would have been fine if the food was good. I cant even say it was decent tbh. It was a valentines menu, and the food lacked flavor. The “lobster” ravioli…was just ravioli. They were out of the steak option and out of tiramisu. 6pm dinner and they’re out of the good stuff. We gave the limoncello desert to the homeless.

Truffle is a great place for date night. It has a low ambience, soft music, and great decor around. We had a group of 6 and made reservations prior. I had tried the pasta wheel dish of the day which was truffle fettuccine and I added chicken. It was delicious! I do wish for the price the portion size was a tad bit bigger. The wait for the food was a bit longer than expected and I wasn't a fan of everyones dishes being brought out in such big time gaps so others were halfway done before I got my food. None the less, it made my tastebuds very happy. Also - try the calamari!!!
