This placed has been closed since the pandemic and has never re-opened
Fire open layout basement bar with free for all activities such as board games, pool table, foosball, along with good drinks/music. With a right crew, it becomes a great night. $12 a drink. 4.75/5 stars as a night bar.
I went here for a friend's birthday at the beginning of March and just found a charge to my card for what looks like a $2 tip that someone thought they could get away with, even though the bar, like all others in Manhattan, is currently closed. If this place reopens, I'll never go back again. I didn't have a good impression when I went (very bro-y vibe), but this has put a bad taste in my mouth.
Cool aesthetic on the inside. Felt cozy and more upscale compared to other bars. Seemed like a mid 20s-30s crowd if that’s your scene.
Decent venue for dancing and nightlife. However, be aware that there is a cover charge for men and as others have said the bottle service influencer culture can swoop in and be insufferable.
Please note: Troy is not accessible ♿️ I had a fantastic time at Troy on a Friday night in between what is usually the weird stretch of hours between Happy Hour and when Meatpacking gets going (late night). I never would have spotted Troy from the street unless it had been recommended to me as it's a basement. The music was so great. They use the same DJ on Fridays. Lots of tables ordered snacks (like guacamole and wings). It's a mix, I'd say, between a "lounge" and a totally laid back college bar, with tables, foosball, ski ball, and a casual atmosphere. Several Meet Up groups were there for the evening and it was a mixed, but overall laidback, crowd. A fun place to cut loose and dance!
