My first time there. I ordered curry chicken. It was delicious! I will return.
I don't know what happened but the food doesn't taste the same. I'm a long-time customer, and it seems like the restaurant changed cooks, recipes, and ownership. Please bring the old cooks back!
Ordered for the first time and it will certainly be my last! The curry chicken was tough, what was supposed to be rice and peas was just rice with some gravy, the yams weren't good at all. Coming from a family that's Jamaican this was a total disappointment, this isn't Jamaican food at all just something they've thrown together!
Table for 2 for lunch Approaching the restaurant and looking at the outside, it looked very unimpressive and generic. I quickly found a spot in the huge shared parking lot. It looked like a few of the surrounding stores were shut down and abandoned. I waited for my friend to arrive, because he had been here before. He arrived and we entered. He advised that the indoor dining room was to the left and I could see they also had a counter, to the right, where you could place a takeout order. We seated ourselves in the dining room, which was pretty empty. The interior decor pretty much matched the outside look, very understated. Our server quickly came by to take our drink orders. I ordered a ginger beer. Then we quickly decided on our entrees. My friend ordered the boneless jerk chicken meal and I ordered the Curry Chicken Roti. I asked if the Roti was big enough for a full meal because I was also contemplating ordering the Curry Chicken meal. Our server explained it should be good enough portion. The food came out pretty quickly and my Roti was huge, more than enough for lunch. I started to dig in and It was “on point”. It was very tasty and seasoned well. My friend commented that his Jerk Chicken meal was also very very good. We were eating and chatting it up in the dining room and our server Santee continued to check on us to make sure everything was going well. He was very attentive throughout our visit and we were not being rushed out of the dining room. Overall, a good experience and I would return to try some other things on the menu. A couple side notes, when I left I had an oily taste in my mouth for a little bit. On a good note, when I heated up my Roti two days later, and it was just as good.
I've been eating here for 18 years. Everyone that I've invited to eat here has always returned and also loved the food. My favorite is the pasta with the tropical sauce. The sauce has any spice level you prefer. I'm a customer for life. Parking: Plenty of parking.
Jerk chicken definitely wasn’t good! Not the old tropical. It’s all new people operating under tropical cuisine
Since the new ownership took over it’s definitely not the same.
My curry chicken was leftovers , my rice were leftovers and my cabbage had no season . Curry chicken was so old it was tan not yellow anymore
Ordered curry goat with cabbage and a jerk chicken patty both were seasoned terribly and the portion size was smaller than other places in the area. Customer service is great nice waiting area just my food wasn't good. Not sure if this is a new management or what
