Loved ones experienced anti-Black racism here. Beware if you are Black that it will likely be assumed by waitstaff that you are not able to pay your bill.
Went with the other reviewer who got overcharged (we split it down the middle). I happily left a 20% tip … they charged us double what we authorized on the receipt (keep your receipt when you dine here). Who leaves a 100% tip?! But fine, new system, mistakes happen… Fast fwd, we both called the restaurant about it. 1) They called her back but didn’t call me. 2) After my friend lmk some other refund department called her, SHE had to give me their contact info, and I had to follow up VS them taking initiative to call me after they screwed up (Unbelievable!). 3) I had to follow up multiple times. It was like pulling teeth. You should have been more proactive to correct your mistake. This is unacceptable. Also, I still see the full charge on my credit card 10 days after the fact. Funny how when they charge it shows pending right away but correcting an error takes this long.
What a fun place. The staff were friendly accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. Had a nice wine list and a very nice selection of food what choices for the restaurant week menu. Better yet they allowed me to order off of the main menu. The rest of our party of nine ordered off of the restaurant week menu andthey were extremely happy with their choices. My wife had never had Dover Sole, there was a reasonable upcharge and she enjoyed it very much. One of my favorite parts of the restaurant was the decor. While it was a very traditional Italian restaurant, the artwork was fun imaginative and colorful which offered a very pleasing contrast. My next favorite part was the antipasto bar which was filled with delicious vegetables. We ordered a wide sample of the bar to share at our table and everybody loved each and every one of the items. Lastly, people think of New York wait staff are being very professional but indifferent- it was quite different here. Staph used humor bent over backwards to make sure that we were comfortable in spite of it being a busy Friday night on a restaurant week and they did not rush us out and we were able to enjoy the company of family that haven't seen each other in many months. If you went excellent Italian food in a fun and interesting place in a convenient neighborhood Make sure the pay a visit I know that I'll be back next time we're in New York City. Wheelchair accessibility: My son does not use a wheelchair, however, our reservations on a busy Friday night were placed in a upstairs dining room without an elevator. It would have been very difficult for him to get up there so they had to rearrange a whole bunch of tables to accommodate us on the main floor. They did it with a smile and made us feel very comfortable that while it involved a lot of planning and effort, they were thrilled to be able to do it.
Very nice atmosphere. Our server was extremely professional, and everyone at my table was pleased with their meals. You will be glade you chose to eat here.
We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The service, food and ambiance was one of the best restaurants I have been to. The 3 of us had different entrees and all were delicious. The waiters sang happily birthday and were the best!
Good food and fast service
Food and service was great
Terrible restaurant. Scammed and charged me double what I authorized on my receipt which is appalling when I have the receipt with what I paid 2 days ago. Now have to deal with a whole process to get my $$ back they were never authorized to charge. Never coming back!!
