The bahn mi are definitely the best items on the menu. I'm a big fan of the super deluxe and make the trip to scratch that itch from time to time. When they get it right, it's fantastic. However, consistency could improve as sometimes they're burnt or dry. Today mine was great but my friend's was charred.

I tried this restaurant since it is in my neighborhood and it was recommended by a friend. It was extremely disappointing. The only good food was the imperial roll appetizer. The lemongrass beef banh mi had almost no meat in it. It had large chunks of fat/gristle that were completely inedible. The pate in the banh mi was completely cold. The pork noodles came with cold broth, it was not even close to hot. The pork meat was overcooked and dry. On top of the food being bad, the server was terrible. She was quick about giving water, drinks, and menus. But she left our food waiting on the counter while she was standing there on her cell phone. Someone else finally brought our food over. Once we had the food, no one ever came to ask us how the food was. They did not come to our table at all after the food arrived. The server was still looking at her cell phone the whole time, so she clearly wasn't busy. We had to go up to the counter to ask for our bill after waiting a long time. After asking, she was still looking at her phone for a while before bringing us our bill. I had high hopes for this restaurant. I almost never write reviews, but this was so awful that I had to.

So, Tran An is in my neighborhood, maybe 10 mins walk. This place was also recently recommended by a friend. As we entered, there was a couple already seated/dining. We were promptly seated and provided menus and a cold bottle of water. Really good start. We noticed the staff was a cook, manager and 1 server/hostess. The Imperial Spring Rolls showed up first. They were delicious, hot and fresh on the plate. Then the BBQ Pork/Sausage Noodles arrived. The Grandma's broth was bland and not very hot, more like lukewarm. Edible, but awesome. Then the Beef Bahn Mi was presented. The manager brought it to the table and apologized for the delay, as it was sitting on the counter for a while (as the server played on her phone). I'd say maybe 1/3 of the beef on the sandwich was inedible due to poor quality, gristle, etc. Also, the bahn mi had paté on it. Too much in fact, especially when we picked off the inedible beef pieces. It was basically a "cat food" sandwich. The server was mostly inattentive, playing on her phone and generally slacking off instead of attending our table. Noticed her hovering around watching the mgr work the register, instead of attending tables. After we finished eating, we sat there chatting waiting for the table to be cleared and the check. After a few minutes, we moved the dishes to the edge of the table, dropping a hint. Nothing. After 10 or so minutes later, I got up and walked over to the server (who was again on her phone) and asked for the check/payment device. The bill was $68. I tipped $5, which was very generous considering the entire experience. The Spring Rolls, Iced Coffee and Passion Fruit Lemonade were the only redeeming qualities of the experience. The food was meh, the service was dirt poor and the price made the disparity (cost/value) even that much greater. Would not recommend to anyone.

Omg...was craving for some real pho. When we received our pho it smells rotten n the soup was not even hot. We smell every piece of meat and it was not fresh. Since we were here for vacation we didn't eat because we were afraid of getting sick. This is the nastiest pho ever.

We were looking for a new restaurant to try out and found a little gem. We love Vietnamese food and never found a good one in Miami… until now. Simple menu, but we tried 4 dishes and they were all very tasty and very good. I hadn’t had such a good fried roll in a long time (we had the imperial). We also tried the Banh Mi, that comes in a baguette instead of the traditional Bun and it was very good. Last but not least, the service was great, everyone in the restaurant was super nice. Will definitely come back and highly recommend.
