Absolutely loved our experience of dining at Traif! This was one of our highlights of the trip! The restaurant is a hidden gem in Williamsburg ! The owner Heather was extremely welcoming and she secured us a table without hassle when she knew we have traveled from the Uk and really wanted to eat here after hearing a lot of good recommendations , was quite accommodating! Amazing 10 course chef tasting menu (8 plus 2 desserts) for £56 per person! Special mention to Elizabeth who was our server , she was quite friendly and made sure we are comfortable and having a great time! Loved their backyard setting, with all the lights and plants makes it feel a bit homely , enjoyed each and every dish in this lovely setting! When we are back in NY will definitely visit again! With drinks our total bill including service charge was £200 and it was worth it!

This has been the BEST dinner in NYC I’ve ever had. You NEED to get the chefs selection for $56 per person. The chef picks 8 shareable plates (all menu items are meant to be shared 3-6 will satisfy you) and 2 desserts. We got: scallops, pork ribs, tuna tartare, Brussels sprouts, seared foi gras, gnocchi, steak frites, coulini salad. The scallops were the best!!! Everything was fantastic. The staff is very kind and professional. The food came at a reasonable pace and they gave a free round of drinks for our anniversary. Final bill, with gratuity (it’s already included with the bill) and one glass of white wine (which was Devine) it’s came out to $164 Without a doubt we will be back!! Dietary restrictions: They ask about dietary restrictions and will honor. I can’t eat yogurt or burrata so they didn’t give me meals with those things in them Parking: It’s Williamsburg. It’s hard to park there.

Arguably the best bang for your buck tasting menu in New York City. Dishes are unbelievably flavorful and creative and the staff is phenomenally friendly. 10/10

Came here with a group of 7 for a bday party and it was awesome. Food was so delicious - we did the tasting menu and they were accommodating for someone in our group with allergies. Multiple courses and very inventive, well seasoned and well cooked food. Left extremely full and happy. Service was attentive, cocktails were great, and wine list had good variety and good price points. Honestly, their tasting menu is such a steal and great value for what you get. We all did the tasting menu and it was served family style, so it's a really good spot for groups. The Snapper fillet in bao buns, duck, tuna tartare, and key lime pie were standouts, but everything was so good. Highly recommend!

Once upon a time in the trendy heart of Williamsburg, there stood a culinary castle known by the locals as Traif, a place so enigmatic it could turn a walk of weariness into a gourmet gallop. Picture this: a reservation at Traif isn't just a meal; it's akin to buying a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's factory, only here, the chef is the candy man, doling out an 8-course wonderland for a mere $56. You don't choose the feast; the feast chooses you. Each course is a gastronomic guess, a delicious dice roll. Will it be the glazed bacon that whispers sweet nothings to your palate, or the scallops that dance the tango with your taste buds? Or perhaps the pork ribs that play a symphony in your mouth? The thrill is in the not knowing, in the surrender to the chef’s culinary caprice. And the sweets? Oh, the sweets! If the cream donuts were a novel, they'd be a page-turner, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the last crumb. Sip on the orange wine, a nectar so fine it could make Bacchus blush, or indulge in the great coffee with cream selection that rivals the Library of Congress for variety. Let's not forget the ambiance – a decor so fine it’s like dining in Gatsby’s living room, and an atmosphere so cozy you'll feel like you're getting a hug from the room itself. The staff, with smiles so wide you’d think they've never known a sad day, glide around ensuring your evening is as smooth as the jazz serenading from the speakers. And if your legs are too stuffed to walk home, fret not, for Traif delivers. Yes, they’ll bring the feast to your fortress. So, whether you've just traipsed around the burg or you're snuggled up at home, Traif is the gastronomic genie that keeps on giving. Prices that please, flavors that tease, and an experience that’s a breeze—this is Traif, the hidden gem that’s a shout above the rest.

A tasting menu with 10 courses for $56 a person (as of December 2023) is an absolutely unbeatable deal. Traif does that with some absolutely tasty food and cocktails. Definitely go for the tasting menu on your first time around.

My boyfriend and I discovered Traif thanks to a viral TikTok showcasing their 10-course chef tasting, and it lived up to every bit of the hype. The $56 per person cost is worth every penny. The ten courses (sometimes more!) are served tapas-style, perfect for sharing among your group. The variety is astounding, presented beautifully on decorative plates that invite you to savor each dish. We left feeling satisfied and genuinely full—a rarity with tasting menus. The staff was exceptional, adding to the overall experience. Our final bill, around $180 for the chef's tasting for two, two cocktails, and a 20 percent service charge for the staff, felt reasonable for what we received. Opting for the chef's selection was a great move; the food was imaginative and delicious. Honestly, the only regret I have is not capturing more photos—each dish was so captivating that I couldn't resist diving right in. Highly recommend Traif for your next night out.

We’ve never been here so it was a first for the both of us. There were so many options that we did the chefs selection and it’s worth every penny! I enjoy the pictures, but I wanted to dive right into each dish because they were just amazing. The cocktails were very nice and refreshing. The service was great they explained each dish with detail. Will come back!
