I am Haitian American and I called this restaurant on the phone to make a mobile order for pick up. When I arrive to pick up my food, they tried to charge me twice the amount that was quoted to me on the phone. There were three people behind the register, and all three of them could barely speak English. They could not properly operate the register to give me the correct price for my order. As a Haitian woman, I experience this a lot when I walk into businesses of my own people, unfortunately. Even though I did my best to communicating creole, the staff became frustrated and refused to serve me. I’ve never experienced this in other Caribbean restaurants only with my own people which makes it so sad. I’ve also reported this to the Better Business Bureau because why are you hiring people who are undocumented and can’t speak English to operate your register. How am I supposed to know what I’m paying for is correct? How can you charge me for a side order of chicken for $33? Do better I won’t be giving this location my business EVER
I was sold on the presentation alone and the massive amount of pikliz that I received was amazing.. I love Pikliz and the woman operating the front was also very kind and courteous definitely going back Update: 3-09-24 I always get the same thing so I would expect my order to be wonderful as it was the first time around.. two complaints my plantains were not fresh they were probably fried the day before then refrigerated and refried for temperature control, but not tasty.. and the griot not sure what's going on there either but I'm used to big pieces of meat fried nice just perfection, now I'm getting shredded meat and I don't like that. Highland cuisine is still popping y'all
