We went on a Sunday night and the place was not busy at all, maybe 2 other tables. Service was very very slow, it was almost an hour to be able to get our meal order taken. I felt like we were barely checked in on. They were out of the duck two ways which was something we were really looking forward to but we went with the general tso chicken and it was incredible.

Staff was very friendly and service was good. Atmosphere was quiet and cozy. Booth were really nice for a party of 6 or fewer. You might find street parking if you’re lucky, else there’re paid parking lots nearby. Food, however, disappointed me big time. I’m a huge fan of Chef Maneet Chauhan’s other restaurant in Nashville — Chauhan Ale and Masala House (also located in Gulch). Most of the dishes we all ordered (party of 6), lacked flavors and was mainly bland. I asked for Chili oil to up the hotness level but even that was more oil and less chili. I can’t describe how laughably disappointed I was at that red colored oil and bland fried rice. Some of my friends had ordered from their New Year’s special limited menu, and were somewhat more satisfied than those who ordered from their regular menu. To top that off, the Sangria I ordered, with no ice, was served to me in a wine glass that was 15% full (shown in pictures) and was served to me that way before I took my first sip. Overall, I think I’ll stick to Chef Maneet’s other restaurants for future outings.

PSA: They claim to validate parking—we were still charged $15. If they were upfront about it, we would have validated at Whole Foods. They need to be clear that parking is only discounted. Spend $2 at Whole Foods so you can validate there. Service is pleasant but the food is awful for the price paid. Summary: Tansuo Signature Ol’ fashioned: Smooth but bland Gomashio Potatoes: Came out 10 mins after we ordered, and it showed—they were gritty and unacceptably undercooked. We sent them back. Brussels Sprouts: great Dan Dan Noodles: Soggy, soupy and bland Kung Pao Cauliflower: the glaze was very thick, cloying and one-note. It unfortunately reminded me of mall food court food. We will not be returning. There is a better option for upscale Asian fusion food in the area.

I don't know if we just came on an off night or what, but my friend and I weren't impressed with this place. The food was okay. The drinks were awful. We felt like the bartender called out that night and our server was left trying to serve and bartend. I ordered from their specialty cocktail drinks. The 1st one I ordered was okay. The 2nd one was awful. So bad I had to send it back and just ask for a simple drink. When I asked our server if she could make a pineapple martini, her response was "I think so." Turns out she could not make a martini and it was the worst martini I've ever had. My friends' drinks were also bad. The food was okay but not great. We started with the bao buns and chili oil dumplings. The bao buns were the best thing we had all night. The dumplings were, meh. I ordered the General Tso chicken for my entree, which was good but nothing special. My friend ordered the special fried rice and said it was okay. Overall this place was not worth the $110 I spent or the $98 my friend spent.

I went with my husband on a Saturday night around 5:30p and the place was relatively empty. Our server was nice and attentive and the drinks were VERY strong. The food was extremely unimpressive for what they are charging. We got the chili oil dumplings to start - they were okay, not the best I've ever had and there was an extreme lack of spice that one would expect with a dish containing chili oil. We split the general tso's chicken and dan-dan noodles and both were also extremely underwhelming. The chicken had an off-putting taste and was more chewy than crunchy; the dan-dan noodles tasted like hamburger helper (this dish also contained chili oil but we couldn't tell - almost asked for some but then realized after double checking the menu that it was already in the dish). Overall would come back here to try a happy hour if they bring one back, but based on the quality of the food and the price tag do not plan on returning or recommending to our friends.

The service was great and she was very attentive. The ambiance is very nice. I went on a Tuesday Night with other Offliners. The food was not to my liking. I tried several dishes and none was to the point of me saying I would come back to eat. I gave it a 5 star because everyone taste is different. The drinks were good. The cost and taste was not near matching. You all have plenty of space to host a party and or outing. Try adding some flavor to the food and or recommend some pairings. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu. Parking: There is no designated parking lot. There are about 3-4 free parking on the street. There is a parking lot near that you have to pay for and parking garage that you have to pay for. You have the Whole Foods garage available and I think they will validate up to 2 hours for $12.

The atmosphere is nice—it’s very calming and quiet, and we enjoyed having a large booth to ourselves. The food was very bad and too expensive. Honestly, we decided to just make Chinese food at home after this experience. Like, we give up, universe—we get it, don’t eat Chinese food in Nashville. We tried about half the menu and we couldn’t find a single dish we thought was even a solid 3 out of 5. But the worst part was that when I mentioned my food allergy (egg), the server assured me she’d follow up with the kitchen, and gave me a thumbs up for all the dishes we ordered (except the Nashville hot chicken dumplings because of egg in the coating). Made sense to me. So I took a bite of the noodle dish and thought to myself, “hmm, something seems wrong here…don’t Chinese dishes use egg based noodles?” I swallowed the bite before I realized it might contain egg, and then I stopped myself. I went to the ladies room and forced myself to vomit so I wouldn’t get too sick later. I then sat for a while texting from the bathroom trying to figure out where the egg was in that dish, because I could sense I was in trouble. I thought maybe the beef had been velveted with egg white, but nope—server confirmed to my husband “oh sorry—there’s egg in the noodles.” I don’t think this server realized or cared that I carry an epi pen because of my egg allergy….its just another in a long string of stupid experiences here in Nashville (hasn’t happened anywhere else—just frigging here) where people aren’t trained to recognize that the food you set down in front of your customers with allergies can actually really hurt them, even kill them. I’m extremely lucky my spidey senses kicked in as quickly as they did. I did, however, still spend the night dealing with stomach cramps and all the other side effects of having eaten even a small amount of egg. Plus having to hang out in the bathroom throwing up during dinner isn’t really “fun.” !!! She comped the noodles but we still had to pay for everything else. Just a bummer.
