Ok… the food here is not good at all. The staff is great though. Weird there’s a line because the food is so mid good, but it seems the kids want a “real(ish) nyc diner” maybe?

New management nice but a little loud on the music

Fun diner experience! Really enjoyed the food and vibe. Will just say to my fellow New Jersey natives, the disco fries aren’t what you’re expecting - needs way more gravy and much meltier cheese. Still, will return :)

Really traditional American restaurant. Amazing for me that I’m visiting the country from Italy Looks like I’m in a American movie

I don’t wanna be overly effusive as these seems a rare gem I need avoid exposing. Not to gatekeep, as I myself am a recent explorer. But incredible ambiance, place id have a piece of pie after seeing a film.

Just your American breakfast place. Food was alright, vibe the same. Decent place to stop at if you’re hungry.

I only ate here once about 6:35 PM on a Thursday night to get out of the rain on my home. This a small place for a diner that is Rough and Rowdy. I sat at an empty booth as the main dining room was almost full. There is a small bar and dining room in the back. I was quickly helped with the menu. I ordered a large veggie burrito as there where many Spanish items on the menu. The table / booth in front of me had 3 good nice people enjoying themselves loudly and the table / booth across the one small aisle had 4 good nice people enjoying themselves loudly. I used the rest room. Graffiti is all over the walls is not good and the bathroom is not clean. Paint over the graffiti with a good water based primer at the end of the night - it will be ready to go in the morning. About 10 minutes later I got served. I told the waitress I wanted to move to the back dining room and stood up holding the burrito plate to move back. I did not mention noise but it was too much noise to eat. She said "There is an event happening at 7:00 PM and the room might fill up fast". I said OK I am going back there. I carried the plate and she carried the water and utensils. The room was empty with just a bartender and a worker. Nobody else mentioned an "event". I sat in the back anyway - last table away from the bar. Honestly the food has to be good to keep paying for the staff and restaurant up keep/ rent / utilities etc. The food costs and the way that food is cooked is usually the least expensive thing in most restaurants. The burrito was large wrapped in tin foil served on a tiny plate? How do you eat a large burrito on a tiny plate without making an overflow mess? You can not. I asked for a large plate. I got one right away. The burrito was mediocre. The black beans obviously came from a can and where not fully cooked - crunchy. So not good. I have tried many veggie burritos since moving back to New York over a decade ago. Usually good to great with added cauliflower, broccoli and rice on the side or in the burrito etc. Yea it's a diner but it could have been good. So minimal on the veggies and no rice. I finished up, paid and left at 7:05 PM. Two people showed up to the event and they where at the bar - not at a table. 2 stars for an exhausted effort by the staff in an exhausting loud environment.
