Disappointed! Food was average for this price range (quality and cook of steaks was sub par). Menu was limited for some reason and filet was replaced with top sirloin. Very inattentive service with no bread served, no water refills and long waits to clear dirty dishes.
The wife and I attended today's cooking and wine ... which was nice. My only complaints are the room was VERY LOUD and the chairs were made from toothpicks. Got to meet some new locals, which was fun. The stuffed mushroom app and Coco van entree were pretty tasty. The pear and almond ice cream wasn't to my taste.
Ask for Julia! She did an amazing job serving our large group of 11 people! The food was delicious!
My wife and I had lunch after wine tasting on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We shared pumpkin risotto arancini (which was amazing - very creamy in a crispy shell), a steak salad (also very good - quality steak, perfect medium rare), and a side of pumpkin risotto. We also got a side of the gorgonzola cream sauce from the steak & gorgonzola pasta dish. Very good as a dipping sauce for the steak. We'll definitely plan to go back.
I rarely write reviews… We visited the restaurant yesterday evening to celebrate my daughter getting her A&M class ring. Reservations for 8 people at 630 and we arrived 15 mins early. Took a moment to get seated, and a bit longer to get service…seemed odd as the restaurant was nearly empty. Then we found out there was a VIP tour going on upstairs. Wine was great, appetizers were good, when we ordered main dishes it went downhill. What started out as a quiet dinner ended up being a room so loud (VIPs joined) we couldn’t talk across the table. The VIP room apparently ordered main dishes upstairs before joining us, and the kitchen was backed up. Took us over an hour from ordering our main courses to them arriving. The sides were all cold…seemed they made plates ahead of time waiting on the entree? My filet (supposedly 6 ozs) was a little larger than a 50 cent piece. Pork chop was also cold. For the price of the meal, I was very disappointed. Not the experience we were looking for on a special day.
Wait staff and wine were good. Food was very disappointing. Fritto trio overcooked, veal overcooked, risotto was awful and beyond overcooked. Ribeye was steamed more than grilled. A very disappointing and overpriced experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Food is mediocre and overpriced. I was charged $22 for an omlette, which on the old menu was around $13. There was no OJ for the mimosas on a sunday brunch; while the folks sitting across from us were enjoying a Mimosa. The service is pathetically slow. The ambiance is great. The fact you can get a bottle of wine for a reasonable price with a meal is the redeeming quality and what makes the experience. Will I go back. Sure. I just need to lower my expectations further
