Went back to the Vine after several years. The cheese bread appetizer was on point, the mushroom arancini lacked flavor. The honey mustard wrap had very dry chicken and overcooked bacon, fries were on point. Will not be back.
Very impressed. Portions are huge and service was on point. Friends from Toronto were wowed by the huge appetizers. The nachos alone could feed 6. No really. Staff was also awesome and was rewarded with extra generous tip. Happily impressed with this establishment 100 yards away from our new home. Parking: Easy.
The bartender was great. Waitress was good. Food, on the other hand, was overcooked and some stuff was burnt which was surprising since it took 50 minutes to get. The medium burger we ordered was chared and way over cooked. The Corndog was hard and overdone. Reuben was pretty good. When it was brought to the managers attention, he didn't seem to really care. Seemed more interested in talking to people he knew coming in. Waitress didn't even say sorry for it happening. Definitely was not a good experience.
The Vine is just a wonderful and unique restaurant to visit. It's been my go to choice for celebrating my birthday for 10 years now. My wife and I spend our date nights here too. Our family rides our bikes there in the summer (because they have the best outdoor patio). The interior is extremely cozy... especially when the fireplace is going in the winter months. Oh, let's talk about food. I personally love their burgers, especially The Irishman. My wife enjoys the steaks offered. And the kids always find something on the kids menu. Now drinks. They have an excellent rotation of unique beers. Wine, well that's their specialty. And they have an eclectic martini selection. So yeah, I can easily recommend going to the Vine! Something for everyone to enjoy. Kid-friendliness: Nice kid menu with good options. My eldest now likes the build-a-burger option.
