Great place to chill with friends or even a relaxing date. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Had a fantastic time here with family. Three hours flew by, only to be told that there weren't any bookings after ours so we could finish the game we had started. Thank you
Really impressed with this place. It was busy but really well organised and not overwhelming, with a really nice atmosphere. The staff were great, recommending some games from the massive selection and even taking the time to explain how to play when we needed it. I'm told by people who were drinking that the selection of beers is good, but I can confirm from experience that the food is excellent, a little pricey but well worth it. I went on crutches this time, but the whole place seemed wheelchair accessible, including the accessible loo on the ground floor. Might be a bit tight getting to some of the tables, and the door at the front entrance is really heavy, I would have needed help opening it in my chair, otherwise great. Vegetarian options: A great selection of clearly labelled veggie and vegan options, and all of the ones we tried were generous and delicious. Wheelchair accessibility: The whole place seemed wheelchair accessible, including the accessible loo on the ground floor which is also the baby changing room. Might be a bit tight getting to some of the tables, and the door at the front entrance is really heavy, I would have needed help opening it in my chair, otherwise great. I would recommend letting the café know you're in a wheelchair when booking a table.
Gosh I wish I had a place like this in my town! Group of six of us, some from Manchester, York and Derby so we wanted somewhere in the middle, The Treehouse came up as number 1 for boardgames cafe. The BG Cafe I had been to before was in London. The Treehouse is sooooo clean and tidy, as soon as you walk in it's just so beautiful! So much choice for board games, I love that they had recommendations on like "best for beginners" and "good game for 2 people". It's also a great system so you can return the games back yourselves. There is a qr code on the table, this shows you the menu and also recommendations for board games for the number of players. We found this very useful. Booking online was very simple, we didn't have to pay in advance which was great. It was £2 per person per house which we thought was a bargain considering how much choice of board games there are. You can buy board games there was well. You order easily at the bar and they put it on your table tab or you can pay there and then. The only downside which is no fault of there own as it is such a busy place is that the food and drinks do not all come at the same time. My partner needs a drink to digest food so having our food out 20-30 minutes before the drinks arrived wasn't ideal, luckily I had a bottle of water on me at the time. It also meant me and my partner had finished our food way before the rest of the table even though we all ordered at the same time (the only difference was we paid ours straight away but I can't see why this would change as we were all on the same table and ordered the same time....) we will try differently next time and see if it works. The food choices are great, lots of vegetarian and vegan options too! I had a mushroom, cheese and spinach toastie and it completely filled me up! I was really surprised. The portions for the whole table were really good. (toastie was £9.50) Very fun atmosphere, the max you can have a table for is 6 hours which made it £12 per person - amazing!! Toilets were also clean, with disabled toilet on the same level as the games as well. As soon as we left we all agreed we would 100% be back!
