Brilliant place nice and friendly staff good food and nice atmosphere
Booked for Easter Sunday, we were really excited about visiting for the first time however I was extremely disappointed, I booked the table in February after seeing the Easter menu priced at £26 for 2 courses, I then noticed that in March the price had then gone up to £28 for 2 courses, our booking was for 1.15pm when we arrived at the restaurant we were 15 minutes early (as I’d heard that the parking wasn’t great ) only to be told that we were booked in for 1.30pm , I showed my confirmation email and we were told that they had probably made a mistake, we finally sat down at the table 20 minutes after our booking time, we were given the menu only to see that the price had then gone up to £29 for 2 courses ??? The food was average, the waitress however were brilliant
Visit made perfect by the lovely Erin. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great for allergies (Coeliac).
Great food, fantastic service, lovely place for a meal and a very handy stop on the way home from alton towers. Been before and will be back again!
We hadn't booked and were able to get a table. We looked at booking online but we were on the move and card details were required so we didn't bother. It's nice inside and didn't feel cramped. Drinks were slow to come out but food was pretty quick. Really enjoyed the food, good quality and good portions. We will visit again.
Very disappointing!! After such a reasonable amount of good reviews and being a local family of 3, we decided to book and have a 2pm lunch on 9th April. Our order for food was taken (1xKiev, 2x Lamb Curry). After 20mins, the waitress informed us that the curry was not available. We then asked for Fish Pie, that too was unavailable. We then asked for Kievs' and again this was not now available. So leaving just a choice of 2 meat options from the 'Mains Menu', we chose the Pork Tomahawks. Very poor considering it was a Tuesday and one wonders what the evening/rest of the week would have!!? Especially if you did not want a pie, burger, fish N chips or vegetarian! Eventually, after 1 hour we were given our food. The Kiev was lukewarm, one Tomahawk was ok, BUT the other was cold, watery, pink and blood seeping out . Definitely NOT COOKED properly! We complained and the meal was taken away to be further cooked. I ended up eating virtually alone as the other two members had finished. The waitress informed me that "just to let you know, this dish is supposed to be served pink" I questioned, if this dish was to be offered rare and pink, they should say so on the menu. Also there is a big difference between rare and blood seeping out of it!! Ironically, my husbands was thoroughly cooked and grey in texture. So therefore was his over cooked? At no point were we offered an apology. For such a poor meal and service, we will not be returning or recommending to anyone locally to dine with you in the future.
Nice pub Parking: Small car park
