Good food with good prices. Worth a visit.

We have been using this bar for over 30 years. Up until last night it has always been a 5 star establishment in my opinion. Last night we went in for just 2 drinks. I approached the bar 7 minutes before last orders as my wife wanted a small drink. I was surprised by the weird behaviour of the female shift leader who was unnamed. She said ‘we are not serving pints, maybe a wee nip only’. I said I did not want a pint or a wee nip, but simply a small Prosecco for my wife. They would not serve this and refused because ‘they were closing soon’. 7 minutes later they rang the bell for time. Very odd indeed. We were polite, civil, and most definitely not merry after only 2 drinks. The female shift leader walked past us, and we politely pointed out that she was not doing her job correctly. Did she understand the rules ? We wished her good evening and left politely and quietly as we arrived. I hope this poor service and lack of understanding does not continue when we next pop in for a pint, if ever
