The idea of this place is awesome! Local artists work, the interior and ppl are great, would say they have to step up their food game though for sure and coffee was ok. Would say they quite overpriced for the quality of meal and drinks.

The food is good here but unfortunately the manager or owner(?) seems to be racist. She went out of her way to antagonize & berate a homeless man who seems like he could have been going through a mental episode Edited to add: we personally never saw this man enter the building, & once the man left the property that’s when we saw the employee follow him out & scream at him. My friend gave him her food & he was so exhausted that he just sat on the ground & began eating.

My coworkers and I experienced an insane interaction with management and a homeless man. The entire situation should have been handled differently. She claimed he swung on a man and he didn't in any way. We watched the entire thing. The way he was approached made him put his hands up in defense, however, he looked terrified and didn’t swing on anyone. Another person (Karen) called the police as this was happening. My coworker immediately went outside and asked him to leave in hopes to keep him safe as a black man who is homeless, just so the police wouldn’t arrest him. This man was already across the street a few houses down and the owner/manager came outside, crossed the street, and started walking towards him to yell at him. My coworker again went outside to help and told her to leave him alone. I, too, went outside to help solve the situation and as she came back in, she was yelling at me when I just told her to "leave him alone he’s already down the street." She stated she told him 4 times to leave throughout the day. At this point, I’m upset because I told her he was just outside not bothering anyone and the situation could have been handled differently. This is literally how black men die, after the police is called on them, after being chased him down. I was so upset, I asked for a to-go box for the food that was an INCORRECT order, then I went outside to talk the gentleman. I asked him if he could please do me a favor and never go back to that place because I don’t want to see him in hand cuffs or dead. I gave him my food and told him it’s just a salad with burger pieces in it, but he could have it. He proceeded to sit on the sidewalk and eat it with his fingers. I understand it’s her business, but in her anger, she didn’t even notice the white man asking for money right outside her establishment. He asked me and my 3 other coworkers for money as we walked into the building. So, to the owner of this business, you make not think it’s about race because you have the privilege not to, but this could of all went extremely wrong. Especially, if he would’ve retaliated after YOU CHASED HIM DOWN. Considering this is right down the street from our job and we visit here pretty often, you just lost an entire building of people who eat their regularly. Next time, and there will be a next time because of where your located, try giving a homeless person a meal. Maybe you can call 311 for advisement on how to help a homeless person near your business, because you don't want to get the police involved. Be a decent person!

I was just in there this afternoon and witnessed workers and customers treating outside residents unfairly. The man who was outside the building was keeping to himself. He was clearly African American, Homeless, and mentally unstable. However, he wasn’t causing harm to anyone. Multiple employees and customers were belittling him while chasing him away threatening to call the cops. I won’t be returning after watching how they handled the situation.
