The Smith

I met friends who were visiting DC from out of town at The Smith for breakfast. We had terrific coffee, bloody mary's and my goat cheese and spinach omelet was terrific. The place was hopping! and the were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Thank you

Food: They are known for their burgers but the patty came out raw. The salmon tartar and Kale salad are great. The fish and chips - Less than 10 chips were served…unacceptable…fish tastes stale as well.. Forgot to mention…the water served at the table has some dirts in it…absolutely disgusting Service: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We got there around 3:30pm. It takes us 30+min to get a table, 20+ minutes to get a waiter to help us (we would’ve wait way longer if the other table didn’t ask for the waiter). And we had to send back the burgers…the lunch last way too long to dinner time…ridiculous Atmosphere: pretty decor but a little too loud If you’re looking for quality food and efficiency, don’t come here. Run fast and run far!!!

Fun place for our wonderful company and a server who was terrific. We had reservations and still waited 30 minutes for a seat. Food was both great and not so great. Stay away from the kale salad. Everything else was good.

Service was HORRIBLE! We went on a Tuesday night and it was farley empty. Our oysters came out before our drinks! By time our drinks from the bar got to pur table they were half watered down from the melted ice. There were plenty of wait staff just folding napkins that this should have not been the case. Food was decent but the service ruined our entire experience.

Great cafe! Great food and wonderful busy atmosphere. I've been twice and each time really enjoyed it. I chose it as the default to bring my parents and they were also really impressed. Locals only.

The food was lackluster and left a lot to be desired. However, the drinks were excellent, and the service was also great.
