The Skillet

What a gem of a place! My partner and I had just had a horrible experience in London the day prior and this was our first time in Scotland. We spent maybe a good 20 min looking up places near us to get lunch and finally decided on The Skillet. Both of us were praying it’d be decent. Welp, it was exceptional. The service was outstanding. The woman who served us was incredibly hospitable and friendly. We ordered 3 small plates for $30, the hummus, fried chicken, and lamb croquettes, and we split a steak sandwich and added two sides, a salad and truffle fries. Because everything was so good we also decided to get the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla icecream and that was also outstanding. Every single thing was amazing. We are from NYC and have pretty elitist taste from exposure to some of the best restaurants in the world. The food here was genuinely amazing and not a single thing was bad. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was truly a delectable lunch. Our bill was so cheap at $55. We devoured everything and were just so beyond happy for such a fabulous meal. Definitely check this place out for really yummy food and great service.

This is a perfect little spot for a date night. It is very cosy and romantic. They serve very good food and lovely cocktails. Their desserts are fun too! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. I would recommend if you're looking for a date spot!

The Poached Pear and Gorgonzola salad, was enjoyable, very fresh, good combo of salt sweet and bitter, quite different. That being said, the Keralan chicken was the star of the starters, juicy, well seasoned, a little spicy, very tasty!, incredibly moreish!. The venison main was delicious, not too gamey, well cooked, lovely, and the Red Wine Jus was just remarkable! Fillet steak was nice and juicy, whilst the truffle chips were perfect sprinkled with Parmesan. Cocktails were also tasty, I really enjoyed the Spicy Mango Margaritas Service was pleasant and quick, small mishap with drink and candle which happens, but a clean up after that would have been Gold Star A spontaneous choice for Saturday dinner, and an enjoyable experience.

Loved this place following a friend's recommendation. Wouldn't have found it otherwise. Great all-around! Steak night fabulous

Nice place, good food.

We really love Skillet, the cooking is to a very high standard and their sauces are up there with the best Iv ever tasted, their pepper sauce is ridiculously good! We can’t wait to go back!
