The Shop: Pizza + Cocktails

Wow, just wow, would not suggest this restaurant. Atmosphere- it is 56 degrees outside, customers are wearing heavy coats and stocking caps in the restaurant and the employees insist on keeping the front doors open so they can serve people on the patio (with heaters) without having to open door. Look around, turn up the heat, close the doors or fix your hvac to heat the customer area better. Also it is loud with voices. Dirty restroom with no tp. Service- well we placed an order. A hour later we get an apology from the staff offering us a 15% discount. Hopefully the food is good. Food- the pizza come out, they are burnt, my daughter orders a sandwich with chips and they bring it with salad instead of chips. The red sauce on the pizza was good. $25 12” pizza that is burnt. $15 capres sandwich that does not have what was ordered with it. $113 pizza for 4 before tip. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Yet another outstanding meal from The Shop in RB! My husband and I always split a small deep dish, and with our very different preferences, we love that they can do two separate halves, while doing it in such a way that it is clear which half is his and which is mine (I love Gorgonzola, but not on pizza). The green salad is fantastic. Servers and hosts always greet us with a smile. Great to see them thriving here in Rancho Bernardo.

Amazing whiskey selection! Jessie was an excellent, friendly bartender. We had delicious, generous salads and fantastic meatballs.

Really, really delicious pizza! But do not sleep on the salads and also their meatball appetizer is amazing. Very nice service, nice ambience, this is a great restaurant!

So happy to have found this spot. Great drinks and the restaurant itself is instagram worthy. The salad and pizza were delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try some other stuff on the menu :)

The worst restaurant experience I have had in my life. We showed up at 820PM and asked if we had time to eat, they said yes. We ordered 2 large pizzas 1 soda and a beer, which cost $90, outrageous. Before the order came they told us they would be closing at 9. The food arrived at 8:50 and they kicked us out 10 minutes later at 9. We asked for a box and they threw us 2 boxes to put the pizza in ourselves. The treatment of the customer is criminal, and any honest business would fully refund the meal which I had to take home. This level of service wouldn’t be acceptable if the pizza was $12. In my opinion the pizza is not as good as Pizza Hut.

Definitely go for the deep dish pizza which is quite good. The "traditional crust" is not as good as a frozen pizza from Vons next door and at 3x the price.
