Great craft cocktails and service!
The Roosevelt Room is adjacent to the Eleanor in downtown Austin. The location is great, as there are plenty of parking and few other food and drink spots within walking distance to keep the party going. Definitely an upscale, dim atmosphere quite reminiscent of a New York Speak easy. This is not a place you go to eat, as the food menu merely offers small hors d'oeuvres (like cheese plates). That said, if you're with a group and want a select venue to socialize, the Roosevelt will not disappoint. It was at maybe 20% occupancy on a weekday at 9pm when I went. But where I would love to see improvement at the Roosevelt is their dinks: We literally were served glasses of cushed ice. Which admittedly look interesting for pictures, but in content, left to be desired. Usually, at such a rather pricey and select establishments, the drinks take center stage and tend to be rather rich in flavor and liquor content, quality and ratio. The same, sadly, I cannot be said about the Roosevelt Room on that front, as our drinks reminded more of Raspados
Extensive classic cocktail menu in a large space. Good value compared to some places. I would recommend reservations.
A bar with a veritable history of cocktails, from the classic Milk Punch, to the Blue Blazer, to modern like my personal favorite, the Trinidad Sour. Knowledgeable, expert staff in elegant understated digs. The milk punch comes with cookies. What more need be said?
The drinks are phenomenal. The service and drink presentation is outstanding. By far, my favorite bar I have ever been to.
