The Rooftop at Overland

Great place....love the record players....Rooms are comfy...Food and drinks awesome...people work there even better.

Awesome place

This is a really nice spot to sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a tremendous view of the runways and the airport in general. I would imagine that in the daytime you may have a decent view of the test track right down below this area. The night we went was a bit blustery and we expected it to be cold on the roof, but it was not. Really not sure how they are heating it, but it worked out nicely. The bar is stocked fairly well and the drinks were good, not stingy. The bar does serve some food as well. There is a restaurant downstairs that one would assume you could also order from. It rather goes without saying that the spot is a bit expensive but don't really feel it should be unexpected given the location and quality of the amenities and so forth. The spot is quite nice and was full of others enjoying the area. The bar at the upstairs closes 'early' but the area stayed open and accessible for hanging out. Keep in mind that if you come just for the bar, it is paid parking. If you are guest of the attached hotel then your room card allows egress. Totally worth going at least one time for the exceptional view.

I think it's understandable that one would appreciate a hotel letting it's guest know their bar would be closed for a private event before they got there or when they checked in...guess Kimpton doesn't understand that though
