Not sure which was better—the food or the service. We loved everything on tasting menu and incredibly generous wine pairings. The surprise winner to me was the squash soup, which is a dish I would’ve sworn I hated before dining here. Everything was delicious—crab cake, ravioli, duck, the fish… Just perfect. The chef/owner is the kindest, most down-to-earth man. He was incredibly patient while explaining the wines to us, and he happily struck up conversation with us about the little treasures in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to return and try the menu during every season!
Congenial and welcoming host chef owner ! Creative culinary award worthy food. The chef clearly take pride in AND loves his craft ! Parking is difficult
If I only had one restaurant to choose ever it would be The Richmond! The food is thoughtful and perfectly prepared. The service is excellent. The spirit of place is quiet, cozy and friendly. John makes these beautiful rolls that make you forget any other breads you have ever eaten. He is a genius and hard working chef. We had the best Xmas gift: Dinner at The Richmond ❤️
We had the most amazing, cozy and intimate dinner for seven last night. It was everyone's first time there and we were all very impressed. John and team were very warm and welcoming. The pre-fixe dinner was delicious, and for almost every course, there wasn't a speck left on each plate. The wine list is impressive and John was very helpful in helping us choose a few bottles. So excited we tried the place and everyone was talking about going back soon. Also I need to mention that the price point is insanely good for San Francisco. Go enjoy, there is no way you will be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: John was so nice and accommodating, we let him know a few of our group have shellfish allergies and he pivoted a course for us.
