My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday. Both our server, Sam, and the sommelier were fantastic. All courses were prompt and beyond delicious. Our server gave us the perfect amount of attention while still allowing us to enjoy our evening alone. The sommelier provided alternative and personal wine pairings when my husband expressed a dislike for a certain flavor. This was our first time eating here and I can guarantee we will be back.
We just celebrated our birthdays here tonight and it could not have been a more wonderful evening. The food is incredible and service is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We come here for very special occasions and they always deliver in a very big way. Simply the best dining experience in Columbus!
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary ❤️. We were told congratulations many times during our meal. The table card was a sweet touch to the evening. The food was great! Exactly the right portions. The menu made the selection a hard choice since everything sounded delicious. I would suggest that you plan on two-plus hours for dinner(they don't serve any other meal, generally). No rushing thru the meal as you will want to fully enjoy yourself. Kid-friendliness: I saw no kids' menu, but that doesn't mean there is not one. There was a group with kids under 10 years of age, well-behaved.
It’s a wonderful restaurant for an anniversary dinner! The atmosphere and decor in the main dining room suits a romantic mood, but I saw a a few tables that seem to be either celebrating a non-romantic occasion or appear to be having a normal meal there. Food is absolutely fantastic. It’s designed as a multi-course meal, but you can order just one thing. Fair warning, portion sizes are small and it would be hard to share just one or two dishes. Desserts were amazing - I would go just for the dessert! Service in general was excellent - our waiter and server were both pleasant and professional. Our waiter also made our drinks, and did a custom drink when I asked for his recommendation. My only small complaint was the overall wait time for food. This felt very much like a dining experience. Our meal was 3 hours long. Even though we skipped the bread course, we still waited about an hour before any food came out. If you order the bread course, you definitely have something to munch on.
It was exquiste. Next time I am in Columbus I look forward to visiting again. I also look forward to sampling and pairing more unique dark reds. Thank you for your service staff.
This was our first time at The Refectory. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and to be honest it was okay. But after hearing for years how great the restaurant is I guess I was expecting much more. It is , however, a beautiful restaurant. Beautiful. The food was good but it neither one of us were blown away by the flavor. Our waiter never discussed the dessert menu. So we didn't order any.
