great Irish pub inside harry potter set, wonderful good and drink selection
The Red Lion Pub is delightful. There is so much care that was put into creating an environment that elicits curiosity and honors the past. The owner Colin is a lifetime Lincoln Park resident who has created a pub that you can imagine being a regular for decades. I love alcove of illustrations that Colin's father drew while he was a WWII POW and the photos of WWI soldiers in the front room. And the books, love the books.
The fish and chips were spot on and the beer list satisfying. BUT the pub seems a little worn and dingy. The sauce bottles on the table were sticky and empty. The wait staff did not make us feel welcome.
Great beer, even better food
Really cool spot, library vibes with ww1 history. Honestly the spot is very nice from the inside. We got the curry fries, pretzel and the sticky toffee pudding. I loved everything besides the sticky toffee dessert - such hope for that but turned out to be a small cake w caramel and nothing more- It needed iced cream not whipped cream. Regardless this place is actually worth visiting for a casual beer and maybe fish n chips/bangers & mash. Cheers!
