The Railway Inn at froghall

We have been in for a drink and lunch. Service was perfect. Staff very friendly. We will definitely be back. Steve in the bar and Mandy in the kitchen was amazing food pefect

We called in on the way back to Ashbourne from Cheadle, and I'm so glad we did! Very friendly, attentive staff, Steve (I presume the owner from other reviews) was super friendly, chatty and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice food, great location. A really good find!

We had a really good meal there last night. It was steak night. The steaks were large, tasty, tender and served with chips, salad, onion rings and corn on the cob. We also had a free drink with the meal as it was steak night. The staff were very accommodating as we asked for blue cheese sauce, which they did specially and it was delicious. We were really full and found the staff very friendly and informative about the area. The pub has several rooms for visitors to stay in.. They are very well decorated, well serviced and clean. All recently refurbished and waiting for visitors. The location is close to beautiful countryside for walking and Alton Towers and is very close to the Churnet Valley heritage railway. A hidden gem. Rooms: All recently refurbished to a high standard. They cater for families and even have a Harry Potter room with floating candle ceiling lights. Wonderful!.

Lovely couple running the pub now, great atmosphere x

We called in on spec on Sunday evening after damage was caused to our car and we were on our way home. The meal service had stopped. However, Steve the landlord, insisted on getting the kitchen to make us something. For which we were extremely grateful because, we'd been in our way out for an evening meal. This was such a kind gesture. We had chicken wraps, really fresh salad and chips. Followed by a lovely apple crumble and smooth delicious custard. I cannot express how grateful we were for Steve and all the staffs warm and wonderful welcome. This is the first time we've been back since they took over in August 2023. We definitely recommend and will be back.
