The Parlay Kitchen + Cocktails

The Parlay has become a favorite spot for my wife and I to spend a night out, and we're so glad to have found it! Over our repeated visits, we have yet to try something that we truly disliked (or even found just kind of meh). Sitting at the far north end of Chandler's Price Rd. business park just off the 202, The Parlay's "tucked away" location makes it easily accessible, while being just far enough away from Chandler Fashion Square that it is never as outrageously busy as many of the restaurants just north of it are on a Friday or Saturday night (nobody says "Alright, let's hop in the car and go eat across the street from the Northrop Grumman and Toyota Financial Services offices!") While it can get pretty busy from time-to-time, we've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for a table. The patio seating is particularly nice, even in the winter with the fires going. The drink menu is pretty standard fare, and while there isn't anything that is going to blow you away, everything they do do is solid. In particular, my wife enjoys their Aviation, Negroni, and Cactus Bloom. I'm more of an Old Fashioned guy myself, and I quite like their seasonal offerings for this drink. For appetizers, the calamari, poke, bruschetta boards, and house made egg rolls have all been excellent when we've tried them. As for mains, you can't go wrong with the Parlay steak burger or crispy chicken platter. Yes, those are basic options, but they're really excellently done. The chicken pesto wrap, french dip, honey hot chicken sandwich, lemon-rosemary chicken, and southwest mac & cheese are also delicious options that I keep coming back to. Overall, The Parlay is a wonderful establishment, and we'll always be coming back for more!

We were staying the night nearby and decided to unwind from the 2.5 hour drive at the Parlay before checking in. Gigi ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup and described it as the best she has ever had in her life. I chose the Steak Bites appetizer as I wanted something to nibble upon. This is a shareable plate of beef tenderloin tips cooked over flat fries (wide cut French fries) with a drizzle of balsamic reduction and microgreens. Soon after serving us the waitress asked how we liked our food, I indicated that it was okay. When I added that my dish was barely above room temperature, she insisted upon getting another. She did so and the Steak Bites were so tender and tasty that I ate every bite. I do like my cooked food hot and cold food cold. High Praise for the excellent staff.

The food was excellent. I can't wait to try more of the menu.

This was our first time here, meeting up with some friends. We had the spinach artichoke dip, Korean egg rolls and the steak bites. Everything was fantastic. We sat on the patio and the weather was perfect.

Basically, this is a sports bar with TVs. The shrimp cocktail was ok, but the texture of the shrimps was on the dry side. We ordered fried calamari, and it was disappointed by the batter on the calamari. The calamari came with some thin sliced fried zucchini, which was a plus. There are plenty of cocktail and alcohol drinks for you to choose from.
