We wanted a buzzy restaurant on a Friday night and Palomar was perfect. I recommend booking a bar seat so you can watch the cooking and chat with the staff.

Dined with my wife and two friends. Asked about the prix fixee menu. This was advertised on the website, and was a major reason for booking. Three of us were happy with the selection therein but one of our party wanted choices from the a la carte. We were informed that this was not possible as the prix fixee was only available if the whole table ordered from it. Our waiter was apologetic but explained he didn’t make the rules. A second waiter told us that this happened in many other restaurants as well. This appears to be largely untrue from our experience. At this point, the second waiter became somewhat confident that we didn’t really know what we were talking about. While the food was good, this whole episode rather spoilef the whole experience for the rest of the afternoon. For this reason, none of our party will ever return or recommend this to others. Really not good customer care as a result of a stupid policy.
