South Lake Brewing Company – The Libation Lodge

Great beer which is the most important thing when the place is called "brewing company." I had Lakeside Caprese sandwich and my husband had a smash burger. The burger was good but my Caprese sandwich was incredible. The homemade foccacia bread reminded me of foccacia bread we had in Italy!!!! Fresh basil and tasty mazz cheese were excellent. Great job, guys!!! Better to ride the gondola and have lunch here than at any lodge at Heavenly. We will definitely go back and bring friends with us. We will convert them to fans.

Best wings I’ve ever had at a brewery. Great beer, kind servers and better quality food than you would find at most pubs or bars in Tahoe.

16 beers on tap. The service is outstanding. Amy went above and beyond for us. Also, their march is excellent. I'd definitely visit here if you're in south lake!

Edit per owner's request for details: My family and I were the only customers and we weren't greeted or acknowledged by the staff. We thought it was strange, but we went up to the bar anyway. I asked about the brews and what they were like. I was met such overwhelming dismissal from the bartender. She gave curt answers, didn't explain or provide any context for the sample she poured. So I asked about it and she said, "It's just a lager. I don't know what to tell you." So, we were inclined to leave because no one clearly wanted us there. The sample was good, but the service was extraordinarily poor. My family and I had a great time at Flatstick instead (highly recommended).

Wow this place is great! We stopped by after hitting the slopes and it was the perfect lunch spot. The beer and cider was out of this world. The food equally as delicious. The serving sizes are plentiful and filling. The wings are some of the best I’ve ever had!

I went here with some friends after skiing and overall liked their beers. They have a good mix of IPAs, so getting a flight on one of their skis or snowboards may be a good idea (you didn't have to fill up the whole flight board, so get as many or as few as you want). The decor is very modern, and if you can sit on the couch in their small "living room" area like we did, it's easy to stay for a few rounds. One of our friends ate here earlier and liked their food. I guess it's a relatively new spot, but it's definitely worth your visit.

Sooo good. We got the tenders and asked if they could toss them in their buffalo wing sauce. Very good. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the ranch was great and sort of that dill-ish homemade type..We'll be back
