Very confusing concept. American is in the name of the establishment but I was told the menu is French inspired yet I ordered the Cubano sandwich. Then I asked for BBQ sauce to dip my only French inspired food which were my FRENCH fries and was told BBQ sauce isn't French. Then it was topped off with a Mexican bottle of coke. I know French food as I have visited new Orleans once before and had Chicken tenders there WITH BBQ sauce.
Was visiting Chicago and stumbled into this place by happy accident as the place we intended to go was closed. We visited in the afternoon during happy hour. The view and ambiance was great, and the food was excellent. The happy hour menu is mainly small shareable plates which we loved. Not very many protein options, but we LOVED everything we ordered including the lamb aryas, cauliflower, and carrots. I’ve never had veggies so tasty and unique as these. We also enjoyed some very unique cocktails. Will be back when in Chicago again
Food is so delicious that it should be illegal..... They made carrots so delicious and they don't even look like carrots... Dietary restrictions: They will ask you first if you have any food allergies before you order your food... Valentines Day must.... I will be back in the summer time. Beautiful view...
The food and ambiance at The Kitchen were great. We enjoyed the oysters and a recommendation from our server to try an espresso martini with Tequila in place of vodka.
Me and my friends came here to spend a lovely evening during Valentines day. The food was at most of unimpressed quality but not as unimpressive as the service we were given by our waiter Miguel. He made unnecessary comments towards us that came out as classist.
Beautiful restaurant, loved loved loved the Tiradito, the Denver steak, and the Mousse Dome. And you can’t beat the Chicago River view. Cherry on top: the staff is awesome = rock stars!
Came here coincidentally while walking the river and it was one of my favorite meals of my weekend here. Elsewhere I had ribeye, handmade pasta, short ribs. However, the Turkish Eggs at Kitchen were most memorable!
Cool place on the river with decent food.
Excellent brunch. The Turkish eggs were excellent as well as the Huevos Rancheros. Very nice modern decor in an old industrial building with plenty of light. We also appreciated that it was quiet and we could have a discussion while eating.
