Service is good that is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. I loved this place until yesterday when I got poisoned on their anniversary. I still am going through a lot of pain. That chicken was the only thing I ate last night
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the service and quality of food is quite good. It is pretty spicy too and we only got medium plus.
Tastes homemade. And the sauce is really good
We did a small catering for a work event and it was a big hit. Delicious food and the coleslaw was amazing. Will order again
My experience at The House of Hot Chicken was incredibly disappointing. Despite placing an online order, upon arriving at the store, my order wasn't ready. When I finally received it, the plates were filthy, leaving my hands dirty, suggesting a rushed preparation. Upon opening the container, I was greeted with watery mac and cheese that lacked any resemblance to its intended texture or flavor. The noodles were hard, and the dish was lukewarm at best. When I called to address my concerns, I was informed that the sauce was two days old, explaining its watery consistency, and that they had just finished cooking a fresh batch. This revelation was shocking and unacceptable. It's concerning to think what else may be served under similar conditions. Refunding or remaking my order was offered, but after being served something two days old, it's hard to trust the establishment again. A visit from health inspectors seems warranted to ensure the safety and quality of their food.
This is a hot chicken shop. It's takeout counter inside a gourmet organic grocery store. It's slow - taking 20 minutes even being the only person there The chicken sandwich is quite good, and the hottest (listed) level, Xtra Hot, is extremely spicy. That's what I've always gotten, and was pleasantly surprised. Think max spicy level at a Thai place, or the Blazin' Challenge level at Buffalo Wild Wings. And if you order in person, you'll see a special ultra extreme spice level. They don't allow it ordering from an app or calling in. And you must sign a waiver. Apparently it's "way, way hotter" than Xtra Hot, "twice as spicy at least," according to the folks working there. I will try it soon. Vegetarian options: Um, this is a fried chicken shop. For vegetarians, it is located inside a gourmet organic grocery shop
The closest thing to Nashville Hot Chicken that I’ve had outside of Nashville. I ordered 3 “hot” tenders and mac & cheese. I could only finish 2 tenders — they’re huge! I was pleasantly surprised with the mac & cheese as a lot of places make it pretty bland, but this one was decent. For me, the “hot” was pretty spicy and any spicier would be too much for me. I will say that the breading on the tenders is a *tad* thick. I think if they coat the chicken a bit thinner, it would be better. Still enjoyed it though and will be back for sure.
