This place wasn't crowded when our party of four visited. I and another member of my party ordered the blackened stuffed flounder. (Paid extra for the "stuffed" part) The founder was disgusting. Dry, flavorless, slimy in places...the stuffing was also unimpressive and a very tiny blob. If there had been salt and pepper at our table I would've added that (and I'm not one to add salt and pepper). Had our server bothered to check back in any kind of timely fashion I would've ordered something different but she was nowhere to be found for a good 20 minutes after our food arrived. The other person's stuffed flounder came out cold. I got a side of broccoli and it tasted just like water. The baked beans I ordered looked like they'd been sitting out for hours and even the server acted like they were questionable when she gave them to me. I'm happy to pay good money for good food but it pisses me off to have to pay good money for terrible food and terrible service. I don't know how this place stays open. I will never set foot in this place again. If I could give a lower rating than one star I would.
New owner needs to learn how to run a restaurant. First, she seated us at a wrong table after promising us a window table when we booked the 1st day allowable for the xmas boat parade. When we arrived and our table wasn't at the window, she lied and said she had never said that (she was on speaker phone, others heard her). Said she couldn't possibly put a table of 6 next to a window (?) but she did put a table of 8 near the window (?). She was quite nasty overall in attitude (other reviews note this as well - go look) and got a little ghetto, tried to pick a fight, and at that point our group decided to not let her grade-school mentality ruin our night. Well... West Indies Salad had no vinegar. Or salt. Or pepper. Yes, you read that right: $30+ for 1/2 pound of what USED to be the best WI salad in Mobile after Bayley's. We had to ask the waitress for a cup of vinegar, we poured it in ourselves and then added S&P so that we could eat it. Shame On You. it's the easiest recipe ever and you messed it up. One person out of 6 was served a good 20 minutes prior to the rest of us. It was either Eat Alone, or Wait and Eat Cold. Another person ordered the fish Almondine. What he got was a piece of fish, with a heaping handful of dry almond slivers thrown over it at the last second. Not warm, not in any kind of sauce or butter, just "Oops! it's supposed to have almonds... uh... here, throw these on top! they'll never know!" Ha Ha Ha. Another person ordered seafood sampler, server offered to have the oysters fried and we said yes, what came on the plate was NOT fried. French fries served cold. Chicken tenders arrived without any kind of sauce. Our apps were on a tray, placed on the empty table next to us and then left there to get cold... we finally went and got them ourselves. Bussed our table ourselves when done with plates. Went to the bar to get our drinks. Don't get me wrong: our waitress was actually WONDERFUL but overwhelmed. the owner did not staff up enough and therefore things either went undone or you did it yourself. This USED to be a great place. It's gone downhill over the last 2 years and now we know why - excellence starts at the top and this lady is WAY too unorganized AND with a bad attitude. We usually come here 2 times in the summer by boat and also for the holiday boat parade. During this past summer the food was so small, and they messed around with the original recipes, that we said "never again" ...but then we did want to go to the boat parade so we gave it another try. Now it's clear that no matter what time of year we go, it's just bad. EPIC FAIL. Avoid.
