We were a party of 8 - celebrating a 27th birthday with a mixed age group. We sat at the arc-shaped Captain’s Table in the bow of the boat which is nicely private(ish) whilst not totally cut off from the rest of the restaurant. We all had a magnificent time. The service was impeccable - friendly, helpful and pitch perfect. Obviously the location is pretty special being on the canal, but also the ambiance is relaxed and delightful, the decor attractive and elegant. And the food was delectable. Perfectly cooked fish and all the accoutrements were spot on. We felt very relaxed, happy and well looked after. All in all it was a brilliant birthday celebration. We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely evening, a very warm welcome and excellent service throughout. We had a voucher for fish and chips and a bottle of wine and found it all to be delicious. We were given loads of time and not rushed to finish our meal. We couldn’t resist ordering the basque cheesecake and thought it was one of the best things we’ve ever eaten! Thoroughly recommend- a really lovely experience.
Overall experience is ok. Had bavette steak, fish and chips, squid. But food is not up to the expected standard for the price paid. Kid-friendliness: Yes . They are kid friendly
We happened across this place and it was one of our most memorable meals! Very cool ambiance in a boat, and very fresh seafood! I am still dreaming about the fresh Irish oysters we had. It was my first time tasting monkfish and it may be my new favorite fish now
Perfect lunch, can't fault service, food and ambience. Thank you.
Really delicious food. Just the right amount of tables to create a cosy atmosphere.
We had a lovely experience at the Grand Duchess. The atmosphere was very romantic, the food was delicious and the staff very kind. Prices are quite high but overall it’s worth h the quality.
Overall good experience. Had the diver sole which was delicious. Very pricey though, can’t say my meal overall was value for money. Bone marrow was good but one 1-2 very small slices of bread and one was burnt and very hard to bite through as it was a thick cut. Atmosphere and service lovely. The wait staff were very attentive. Had some starters and sides (fries - thick cut ans angel, and brocolli were fine), the calamari was very salty. Overall I was happy with the Dover sole taste and freshness but did not fully feel satisfied for value for money for the other items. I was hungry even after £35/person sharing the above with 2 other girlfriends.
Amazing meal. Brilliant service
