The Goodman Pub and Kitchen

Bartender service is non existent with a non chalant "don't talk to me i'm too busy" attitude (two white female bartenders). Asked for a menu 3 times. First request was forgotten, second I was vaguely pointed to a piece of paper that I assumed maybe had a QR code to scan (for a digital menu?). Nothing there. Third, one of the busboys/waiters handed me a physical menu (it's a lot to ask for these days from an establishment). Then they had the audacity to slap on an 18% tip without asking. For what? Pouring a beer and providing sub par service? Luckily I caught it in time. Careful out there people

Have been many times over the years. Menu has improved over the years and now features good food with vegan options. service is great. Inside is ok. Mostly high tops and benches. Better in the warm months for patio. Great for group functions. If your down by the lake a good option for lunch, dinner or just drinks Vegetarian options: A few options. Noddles. Tacos. Not just salads.

A little pricey, but totally worth it for the great food, drinks, and vibes. In the summertime, it's a must go place to hang with friends. The fried chicken sandwich is a go-to!

Place is decent. I would give 5 stars except for the following: For groups of 6 or larger or something, they add a mandatory tip of I believe 18%. BUT, they calculate this on the AFTER TAX price which makes it effectively over 20%. Absolutely ridiculous for you guys to be fleecing customers like this. Change your policy so it's calculated on the pre tax price like it should be.

Update: Feb 28, 2024: Winter Brunch at Goodmans was very enjoyable. I ordered the Avocado toast customized with scrambled eggs instead of poached eggs. It was delicious, healthy and visually beautiful. Our waiter Jenny was wonderful and very attentive. I love that Goodman’s has brewed coffee with free refills. Nice touch! Summer 2022: The view, food and service were awesome! Our waiter Josh was very friendly and professional. I had the fish tacos and the red sangria. Both were delicious.

We had lunch here and it was really good. Hats off to the waitress as she was working alone and killing it! She deserves a raise.

Went here ages ago and forgot to review! Was there after a lovely evening stroll on the harbour front with friends. The patio was pretty full so we were seated inside. Mike helped us out with suggestions and we had a lovely time. The food was good, the beer was good and the price was just right.
