Great atmosphere but this service staff really needs some help. I went there in the person behind the counter just stared at me when I ordered a half calf Americano. Then the manager came to help them explain what it was. The individual gave me a stare down and was incredibly rude. Not only did the person take my order down wrong but when I went to pick up the order the individual behind the counter rolled their eyes at me when I asked for steamed oat milk which was supposed to be part of the original order. The two women / men hung out behind the counter talking to each other and completely ignored me as I tried to get eye contact. The service is exceptionally poor here otherwise I would come back more often. I'm going to put it on the list of which I don't go to anymore as a result.
Place is super clean. Prices are very fair. Ordered a veggie wrap for 8.95. Had egg, veggie sausage, avocado, veggie sausage and more.
Ok some stuff here is definitely overpriced, but thats just the nature of foxtrot-like corner stores these days. A little cookie cutter (millenial greeting cards). HOWEVER, I have eaten a lot of food here and most of it is solid (except their onigiri is dry and also why is it $7). Their espresso drinks are consistently solid (tastes better than Starbucks #boycot). I bet their salad bar is fine if you're into that. Eat their soup all the time especially in this weather/economy. Literally would die for the brownies with nuts in them. One time my boyfriend bought an olipop there and didnt realize it had a lot of fiber in it. Parking: street parking on Damen, permit parking down Wabansia. If you find a spot, take it and pray
The lox and bagel is the best here! I used to love their Greek wrap but sadly they took it off the menu. It’s a very cute shop and a good place to pick up unique gifts or food for a picnic in the park. The coffee drinks are very overpriced for the quality and how much you get (iced drinks are 90% ice) so I would recommend just hitting Starbucks on your way there but the food options are pretty good. The walk-up window option is nice too.
