Waitress was amazing! Food was amazing! This restaurant is located in Wall,Tx. right outside of San Angelo, Tx....We had an early supper on a Friday evening and we will stop again next time we are in that area! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Loved the salad bar. Chicken fried steak was good, too. Hostess was friendly. It was a good place to stop. Parking: We were in a motorhome towing a car. There was another such rig there, a truck and horse trailer and there still lots of available parking.
The food was excellent and so was the service. I rode motorcycle over 140 miles in rainy, 40 degree weather to get here and it was totally worth it.
I had smothered hamburger steak . Mashed potatoes. It was pretty good. Wife had steak bits and baked potato. Baked potato was hard and cold. Friend had denver steak. He said it was pretty good. Salad bar lettuce was kind of old. But rest of salad bar was good. Service was good but it was not busy so ymmv.
We came in there on our way home from Angelo hoping for a bite of dinner. As soon as we walked into the dining room, we smelled gas. 4:00 and no one w as in the restaurant. We had also sat out in the parking lot for about 10 minutes and the waitress knew we were there, as she was sitting at an outside table from the bar, so they had plenty of time to freshen up the place. The gas we smelled was actually raw and very strong sewer gasses. Waitress said it's because they have very old pipes and water must be poured down the pee traps so the smells go away. Now...this was not just a little smell. By the time we made it to the bathrooms to wash up, the smell was outrageous. Kind of what you experience in a porta potty in July without anything added to dissipate the smell. She said they have to do that often. Well...my point is, if you have to do this often, then by golly, do it so your restaurant doesn't stink like this for customers coming in. We stay ed and the food was seriously below even sub-par. Their salad bar had been up for a long while so boiled eggs were out of the question. The lettuce was slightly discolored (again, sitting there a while) and they had crab salad....i wouldn't have chosen that at that time of day anyway. Seemed like everything was from lunch. Point is...we were terribly turned off from the beginning just from the smell...no matter how beautiful this place is, things need to be better so customers are not offended by raw sweet gasses. Never again. We went a few years ago and wasn't impressed, but this just sealed the deal to never go there again. EVER!
