The Getaway

Atmosphere is great. Food is not equivalent to prices! The prices are very high and the food wasn’t what I expected I ordered the Cuban and got it cold. Was not staffed enough for a large party. Drinks were really good. If I go again it would be for drinks only. I would not go back and get food again. I feel like for the price, the food should be much more satisfying. But the atmosphere and drinks are what I would go back for. Parking sucked we had to park at the beach lot.

Good food, service was a bit slow but they were very busy. Gandy Blvd in St. Pete is very busy near the restaurant. Parking is not very good.

This place is truly a Getaway! When you walk in, you feel like you're somewhere tropical. The place is very roomy with a wonderful view. There are two separate areas/bars. You can see dolphins, manatees and stingrays. We were there on a cold and rainy day and still loved it! I had the lobster empenadas and wasn't wowed. I also had the chicken tortilla soup and it was delicious. Our server was amazing!

If you like Florida tiki hit, by the water, outdoor. this is your place. You have to give them a credit card before ordering. Annoying as i has to go back to the car to get it. 1 outdated menu to use as they want you to download their menu. annoying as i left my phone in my vehicle. i ordered blackened Mahi sandwich. toast the bun. A side caesar. they gave me what appeared and tasted like a pre cooked piece of fish, no seasonings, certainly not blackened. Room temp. and the room was cold. bin was fresh out of the cooler. caesar salad as you could see from the pic was mostly a bowl of fake croutons. we wanted coffee. had to go next door. $4.50 for barely warm coffee wife had french toast and fried chicken. was just ok. wouldn’t go back

Delicious food and great service. Bacon wrapped Jalapeños are amazing!!

The good part of this visit was the location. Splendid view of the waterway and mangroves. Unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives. 1) Birds. Just like in the movie the birds were everywhere. We sat under a tiki cover and had to move to the bar. While being served a bird swooped down and grabbed food from 2 plates. Both were replaced. 2) food. A)I was told the hand made, bacon rolled stuffed Jalapeños was excellent. They weren't. Jalapeños were tasteless. B)My grouper bites were good but by the time they were replaced from being bird food the fries were cold. C) My buddy ordered shrimp tacos. There were 2 soft tacos with 2 shrimp each. No lettuce, no Taco sauce, nothing. Worst $200 we've ever spent at a restaurant.

Love this place for an adult beverage and an appetizer.
