The Front Page is a tucked away gem off Springdale in the Springdale General Complex. The menu is stacked with sandwiches and salads, offering soup seasonally. You can order a generously sized side salad (photo included) and plain cheesy bread for $11, a steal in this town. The sandwiches come in a variety if sizes / breads. The ranch is zesty and great with the cheesy bread. The staff is friendly and the food comes out at a good pace. There is a trivia hosted on Wednesday evening at 8 pm on the dog friendly patio. The host is great and there is usually a good crowd but enough space to grab a table. Good spot for a group too. Conveniently located near ABP for a pre or post climb bite!
Got the smoked turkey on a hoagie and I think it would have been a good sandwich but the mustard they used was so strong and horseradish spicy, it’s all I could taste. I could only get through half of the sandwich, unfortunately… I think it would be fine if you asked for it without mustard. UPDATE 1/5/23 (adding a star): I’ve gotten two other sandwiches from them since my original review and they were both fantastic! The caprese on a hoagie and the ham and cheese on toasted sourdough (without mustard) were stunning. The ham and cheese is honestly probably my go-to sandwich when I need lunch in this part of town now. And that sourdough Vegetarian options: The caprese sandwich is a lovely vegetarian option!
Soups, salads, and sandwiches. Decent wifi and you can get half-pint beers. Lastly, the staff are always super friendly. Love this place.
Very good potential. Nice drink selections, local beers in particular. However the vibe was stale, bartender was unfriendly and displayed Austin’s classic apathetic approach to service. If it’s out of your way to come here, I’d pass. Better spots nearby.
Stopped by The Front Page (TFP) for lunch after picking up out-of-town guests at the airport. What a cool place ...! You order at the bar, and they bring your food out when its ready. Salads and sandwiches mostly, so we tried one of each. The Greek Salad was very good, nice dressing served on the side. Ample salad for two to share. After a bit of conversation with the bartender we choose the traditional Italian sandwich. A nice-sized sammy, perfect to split for two. The bread was very fresh, and there was a good-sized portion of Italian meats and cheese. We liked TFP and would go back to try other things on the menu. Recommend TFP for a good salad, sandwich or combo!
