When you have wonderful food and great staff, it tends to make my day! Another day at the French Hen, we are lucky to have this restaurant 2 blks from our house. had my birthday breakfast meal today, all was nice.

The food is the best part of the restaurant. It is spendy but tasty. $14 for an a la carte breakfast sandwich. The atmosphere is nice - it's loud but I don't mind. The tables are fairly close which makes it a lil awkward with getting up and serving. Unfortunately the service was sub par. We waited over 10 minutes for a table with 2 different staff passing by at least 3 times yet we received no acknowledgement. We were not ever asked how our food was. No one in the restaurant received a coffee refill without asking - the servers did not go around with the pot and offer to any table. Coffee is delicious and should be at $4.50. They can afford to give an extra warmer without being called. Overall it was passable but not worth the cost of our 2 top at $50 for breakfast including tip - too steep for the minimalist service, and it is not that unique enough to warrant a revisit.

I'm disappointed in the host. I was told it will only take 20 minutes for a table. We waited for an hour and still no table. He wasn't honest about the wait because he told everyone 20 minutes. If he had told us that it would be longer wait, we could make the decisions to stay or leave. The host wasn't apologetic, he made make excuses after excuses with bad attitude. A place like this with poor host, I won't be going back.

Service and atmosphere were good, salmon scramble was underwhelming, but it’s a nice place overall. The menu description says soft scrambled eggs with cold smoked salmon, which is kind of misleading since the salmon is mixed in and cooked with the eggs so it just tastes like any other salmon. The cold descriptor made me think it might be normal smoked salmon like lox on top of the eggs, which would have been tastier. Also eggs were kind of overcooked and rubbery. On a side note, on my way out I noticed a chalk board with a breakfast special that looked good, would’ve been good if the waiter mentioned about that at our table.

Service was on the spot. The food was dance in my seat, delicious. Can't wait to come back

Absolutely wonderful French cafe. The perfect spot for a romantic brunch. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. It is a little weird entering through the flower shop to get into the cafe, however it does add to the atmosphere and experience.
