Lauren is the best. Never been to Dallas or the Deep Ellum area but this place ins dope. Cool Cajun dishes you don’t see most places. Reminds me of home. Will definitely be back when in town again

Ok so I've been 2x and both times I don't have anything to brag about. Great atmosphere if you want some music, Open mic, band. That was all I enjoyed. Orderd food both times and had to send back both times. So it's eat b4 you go. Drinks. Drink b4 you go unless you drink beer.

Always great music. Good food. Decent drinks. Three different seating areas (one is outdoors), and two different kinds of music playing. Dress code is casual. Ten to get in at the door. Features: No social distancing. Masks not required, but of course you're welcome to have them on. The outdoor tables have a little more space between them than the indoor tables

This was literally one of my favorite spots since I discovered it during the lockdown. It WAS... until I came to grab a quick takeout order for my last birthday, and they tried to charge my friend and I a $20 cover to order to go. When I declined, they proceeded to send the waitress out to the sidewalk to take my order... the flippin SIDEWALK. The Ella and bread pudding are good... just not good enough to get disrespected on my birthday. And to be clear, this incident occurred over 6 months ago... but the mere mention of the restaurant triggered me so badly that I had to spin the block on this review. I'll just stick to Pappadeaux from here on out... they give you free dessert on your birthday, not a sidewalk takeout menu. NOTE TO OWNERS: Actively running customers away isn't good for business.

It's always a good time at The Freeman. Whether you want to hang out in the big room for an electric evening or walk over to the smaller intimate room for a dope jam session; either one is a vibe unmatched! The service was on point! Shootout to both old and new management. The food is pretty good with a nice mixture of bar and restaurant options.

They tried to charge $10 cover to place a pickup order…I actually wanted to try the food too since I was in the area for an event just for the day.

The food is terrible! The fish is fried in dirty grease.
