This was a much needed dose of decadent soul food. The server was spactacularly welcoming.
Holy smokessss!!!! Visiting this restaurant while coming to Atlanta was an amazing decision! The staff were amazing and so sweet helping us pick a wonderful meal!! AND GET THE BREAD PUDDING!! Great Louisiana cuisine
Fantastic food and great service! Nicest people around. I had the pasta with shrimp and sausage. I highly recommend it and want to come back to try their other dishes.
No complaints about the food at all.. I've been here a few times.. And it's always fresh and flavorful and never disappoints... The staff is always nice. Nice and even willing to let you try things before you buy.. More so of a carry out so not much to say about the atmosphere
I decided to try The Food Shoppe since it was one of the higher rated places to eat in the downtown area. There are a few tables to sit down and eat, but it definitely leans more toward takeout. Everything on the menu looked good, but I decided to go with a small shrimp and grits bowl ($13), since I haven't had grits in a while. I forgot to take a picture because it smelled so good that I just dove in, and by the time I remembered to take one, it was no longer aesthetically pleasing. The first thing I liked was that they removed the tails from the shrimp, so you don't have to discard them and get your hands dirty. The cheesy grits had excellent flavor and the dish had a mild kick to it. My only complaint was that it didn't work proportionately because I had a lot of leftover plain grits at the end. I love grits, but it hits different with the cheese and shrimp missing! Service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly! I would definitely revisit to try their mac and cheese as well as some desserts.
food bland & def not gumbo, more like chicken broth. workers arguing & cussing.
I had a horrible experience with my friend. The lady at the counter took the order wrong, and the lady from the kitchen made it seem like we were to blame. She wasn't given a reciept, so there was no way to see what she had been charged for. We kept repeating what she had ordered, and the lady from the kitchen kept saying that someone had ordered that particular food.... we kept saying no.. it was a back and forth without proof.. she said she it was fine and could remake it.. but apparently not without trying to fight about it because she still came back and kept saying someone had ordered it. We ended up just taking the incorrect order for fear of them spitting in the food, and because had she not sat there and argued, we could have had our food sooner. I got the voodoo chicken if I'm not mistaken, and it was ok. For me, the chicken was good, but there were too many seasonings on the mac. Some may like it, i did not.
Went to the Peach Bowl game and was checking out downtown the night before. was hungry and looking for food, saw this place on a website, decided to check it out. Food was really good, expensive but i assume it was downtown atlanta talking. I got the Jambalaya BBQ with shrimp and it was good for the first few bites. By the end i was full and the BBQ taste was getting overwhelming. I couldn’t finish it but it was still really good.
Me and my girl stopped here for some lunch and that was the best idea we had all day! The owner and Ms. Dee I believe he name was were very very nice and welcoming. The owner’s food was amazing! Best soul food I’ve ever had! I recommend the voodoo chicken man, so good! Very good energy and very good people!
