Historic and a great place to catch a show the Veronicas were
SF music venue rich in history and culture. Make sure to get there early to look at all the photos of past performances and the poster room. also appreciate their efforts to reduce waste by using reusable cups for drinks! 10/10
This place has become the worst place to see a show. Little 12 year Olds seem to be running it
Interesting history. Seems a shadow of its former self. But outside the building, without warning, a homeless guy wearing a Golden State Warriors blanket like a cape and otherwise clad only in underwear walked up behind me and threw a big hunk of concrete at the back of my head. It hit me between the shoulder blades, so there was no loss of consciousness, but it added a dash of suspense and excitement, so there's that. My young son was quite freaked out by it, so if Blanket Guy is part of the Fillmore hospitality staff, I'd consider rethinking his approach.
2 things matter most when it comes to music venues and The Fillmore has all 4. Yes I said they have 4 of the 2 things that matter most when it comes to music venues. 1. Atmosphere It's The Fillmore for Pete's sake! The, The Fillmore!! This place oozes atmosphere and is steeped in musical history! 2. Acoustics The Fillmore is like a well broken in set of perfectly tuned speakers. It's highs are high and it's lows are low. And the mids are for Andy Frasco! 3. Staff Every person we came into contact with had a smile and were very welcoming. It was our 1st time at The Fillmore and I'd give the staff a big fat A++ 4. Food I'm an eater so I was super excited to get a table and be able to order a cheese burger! It was pretty darn good too!
The Fillmore is truly a San Francisco institution and a historical landmark as well as top tier venue for live music. I’ve been countless times, probably more than any other venue in the Bay Area. They give out free posters on your way out the door at shows that sell out far enough in advance to commission the artist and get them printed. They have hundreds of them on display there and I have a few on my walls from shows I attended. Everyone should see a show at The Fillmore. If you haven’t been yet then pick something upcoming and go experience it there.
