The Esquire Tavern

Food is incredibly salty. Beer on menu not available. Seats were wet. Fly in drink. Avoid

Hostesses seemed more interested in their cellphones than in helping diners. My wife and I sat at the bar. The bartenders were excellent and saved this from being a dreadful review.

It's OK...

Dirty table. Never cleaned while we were there. Had to order from bar as there was no table service (sign on table said, oder at bar). Boring atmosphere, just hype about a long bar with nothing to look at around it. Nothing on walls. Much better places to go.

Positives = location overlooking River Walk + Old Fashion with tons of alcohol. Negative = BLT with super thick slices of almost all-fat bacon. Worst BLT of my life.

Was totally surprised by this place. Since it was on the Riverwalk and had some pretty neat history behind it, I figured the food would be an afterthought. Wow. We were blown away. Everything was outstanding from the chicken tortilla soup (maybe the best my wife had ever had) to the BLT to the Esquire cheeseburger. Nothing disappointed us.

We didn't eat here. Just had a drink. Bar tender was very knowledgeable and helpful. Atmosphere was amazing!!
