The Drifter

We waited for over an hour on a Thursday night -our only night in Chicago and they told us after WE FINALLY GOT IN that they were done with shows after 11pm. That’s the only reason we came and no one told us this before. I am so sad we wasted our only night waiting for a show. I really am.

Located in the basement of Green Door Tavern, The Drifter is a wonderful speakeasy. The cocktails are all incredible and if you aren’t feeling any of them then you can just order a classic drinks. Every hour on the hour there’s a burlesque show and all the performances are a lot of fun. I repeat: there are burlesque shows every hour on the hour. You would not believe how many first dates come here and don’t realize it EVEN THOUGH THEY TELL YOU.

Very very good cocktails, liquor selection and the upstairs bar. The speakesy had a great vibe, great show and delicious cocktails. Two reasons for a 3 star, huge wait, I know is not controlable but some reservation system or way to know beforehaand would be nice. Also 2 dollars extra for whiskey on the rocks, like the rocks themselves were 2 dollars. Minuscule amount but should be 0 always so rather unusual and even negative

Drinks were excellent. Caught a few of the performances. Definitely enjoyed myself.

Speak easy is very unique, good cocktails. But 5 minute Show is not worth waiting for! We waited for 1,5 hrs to get in.

What a fun place!

One of the best speakeasy I've been to. They were happy to accommodate our party of 8 on Valentine's Day. Wonderful staff and helpful hostess!
