First, I'll say the food was fantastic, and that is why I'm giving 2 stars. But this review just goes downhill after that. I made a reservation online for mine and my wife's anniversary and found that "the District Gastrobar has a business casual dress code and I can be denied a table in the dining room if I or any member of my party does not arrive in proper attire." Which is fine. However, we walked 30 minutes to the restaurant from our hotel in not-exactly-comfortable clothing to be greeted by a host wearing shorts and t-shirt and surrounded by guests wearing the same. Still, not that bad. But, then we were served by a waitress (whom the bartender told me was named Betta) who would have been a better fit as a bartender at a dive bar. Her demeanor came off like someone who was drunk or on pills and she was slovenly, impatient and rude. When she came to take our order, I told her I was having a hard time deciding between two menu items, however she didn't let me finish my sentence and interrupted me after the word "deciding" to say: "Really? You've taken a lot of time!" before I could complete my statement and ask her which of the two menu items she would suggest. After we got the meal, she didn't check on us until our food was over 1/2 finished, and then she acted annoyed that I asked for a side of mayonnaise. She brought the check to us before we were done with the meal and I had to tell her that I was probably going to get dessert. She was, again, annoyed as she walked away. After that, I just wanted to get out of there, so I told her, politely, that I had decided against dessert and could we please get the check. When she pulled out the credit card reader, I was confused that it asked if I wanted to apply a "+3%, +7% or +10% tip," so I asked her why it wasn't the standard 18%, 20% and 22% tip? She said that we had already been charged an automatic 20% tip. I declined to give her an extra tip on top of 20% and she reacted by angrily mumbling something and grabbing the card reader out of my hands before stalking away from the table. Then, as we were headed towards the door, Betta sarcastically yelled across the length of the entire restaurant, "You two have a GREAT night." When I walked back in to the restaurant to use the restroom, I asked the bartender our servers name. I have no problem with giving a server a great tip for even mediocre service, but apparently extracting 20% from every guest automatically gives some servers the excuse to treat their guests like crap. I'm happy that the food was so good, because, otherwise, that experience with the server would have ruined our anniversary night out.

Stopped in before Tom Segura to kill time. Bartender Terrance has been great and literally has not stopped moving since we got here. Him and Kacey are killing it. 10/10 would come back!

Came in with family - daughter and her two kids. Only one other table occupied. Atmosphere nice, good food choices, too.. Waitress must have been new. Instead of coming to check on us periodically, she cleaned the front windows. We intentionally placed children's orders so they would come first. Long wait for food. Kids food came after ours. Kitchen staff needed to manage time better.

I could not stress this enough. Do not go here. To start off the night, our server served alcohol to my pregnant friend after she ordered a non-alcoholic drink. The dough on the flatbread I ordered was raw. The restrooms smelt like sewage, but they have scented plug-ins all around the bar so it doesn't smell everywhere I assume. Not to mention, nobody said anything about a 20% service fee that was already taken out before we paid. After we left, 2 of the 4 of us didn't feel good and had to go home.

Garbage.. this place is leaning on their location. Food was horrible and service even worse.

It would be 5 stars if whoever owns this place would make it so all theb20 percent of the tip money went to the bartender.

At 41 years of age, I had never walked out of an establishment without receiving the food I ordered, until tonight. I booked a table for 5:30pm as we had a show at 7pm. We arrived on time but upon arrival, the host, who I believe is also the manager, could not find my reservation. He was very nice about it and he took a minute to rearrange his reservation schedule and accommodated us with a table. Our server took our drink order right away and the drinks came out pretty quick. When ordering drinks, we also put in an order for an appetizer to share. We then had to wait about 15-20 minutes for the server to come back and take our order right around 5:50. Around 6:15 (45 minutes after our arrival),we asked about our appetizer, which was nothing more than chips and dip, and ordered a second round of drinks. We waited another 10 minutes for the appetizer, and another 15 minutes after that until someone at our party finally got up to grab our watered down drinks that had been sitting at the bar for nearly 20 minutes. At 6:50, still no entrees, at that point we had no choice but to ask for our money back (we paid the check early to be sure we get to our show in time). We received our money back for the food we didn’t received, which I thought was fair, but we were still charged for the gratuities on the entire check, which I didn’t think was very fair but the server didn’t have anything to do with making the food so I didn’t say anything. I’m not asking for anything for free, but looking back I feel like the manager could have offered a little more then just a refund for the food we didn’t get, to make up for the inconvenience of sitting there for 90 minutes and going to a show on an empty stomach. I counted 6 people working in the front of the house and I can only assume at least two more were in the back of the house. If with 8 people on the clock you cannot find a way to serve the 45-50 customers you have in a timely manner, you seriously need to rethink your organization.

We had reservations for 5:30, took 20 min to get two beers for six people, didn’t get food until 6:45, food was wrong and one person never got food. It was busy when we got there but not busy when we were leaving. We told them up front we had to leave in an hour and one check. Waitress still tried to take two cards when we tried to settle up even though expectations had already been set. Can you imagine how long we would have been there if we had to split the bill. No apology. And the bill was wrong. Either you are a bar or a restaurant. Plenty of waitstaff, no one took responsibility.
