After living in Orlando for 6 years I decided to take my dad here for breakfast. As described on the menu, the CFS sandwich for the Monday special specifically says sandwich. Other customers said it would be a sandwich like their house BLT. It was not. It was a chicken fried steak with white gravy and a side of fries. The fries were to be purchased separately so for the special being $13, you still have to spend $3.25 for a side which brings it to $0.25 more than regular price. The coffee was essentially brown mop water so no coffee taste, they forgot my dad’s orange juice, and the fries were over done and the gravy was bland and very heavy. If I could do zero stars that would be satisfactory. Parking: Free parking but it is in a plaza with other stores and an auto store next to it so if was difficult to find parking.
Food is usually Great, prices are s little high and the service is okay, depends on what server you get...
We went on a Saturday and were hopeful that it might be good since they were very busy. We order an omelet and the three egg combo. The fruit was soggy and warm. The rest of the food was okay but we only got part of our order and it took quite a well to get the rest of our order. The coffee was really acrid and there's so sugar or cream at the table so it took a while to get enough to make it drinkable. Service wasn't very good. Overall wouldn't return here.
So disappointed! The staff was cordial. The biscuits were great. But the food was subpar and the coffee was horrible.
This was my 2nd time here. Not much options for me as I'm plant based, but they hooked me up with the veggie burrito. The vegetables were seasoned nicely, and the broccoli was firm, not soggy. Good stuff. My companions had no complaints and raved that the grits had a cream cheese blend that was superb. Great community spot worth checking out.
Excellent food and service
I haven’t been here in quite awhile. It was apparent when I walked in that something had changed. I asked if they changed owners and was told that the son had taken over. The place looked barren compared to how it use to and the customers were sparse. It was quiet. It used to be packed, lively. With tables closer together to accommodate the many diners. The menu was several pieces of printed off papers stapled together. The menu was a bit different with the addition of some Mexican-type faire although I was there for breakfast and did not look further. The prices were very high considering what they were offering. I wanted eggs, bacon and some fruit. Fruit was not on the menu and the options to go with the eggs were all starchy, no meat. The normal a compliment I would expect. Or maybe it was considered a side order. Home fries are $5.00. They came in a half-filled small bowl and looked very over-cooked. This was something my husband ordered. Omelets were $14 and up. I don’t remember everything but suffice it to say, I won’t be going back.
