First time in Texas and San Antonio. Always heard about Texas BBQ so I thought most places here would serve you a decent one. Wrong! I was here for Ellucian Live Conference and they booked this restaurant along with couple others for a party. The food was laid out buffet style and people formed a line for self-service. Meat was SOOOOOO BLAND, it was head scratching. ABSOLUTELY ZERO, NONE, NADA, AUCUN flavor... I can cook meat x100000 better than this with my eyes close. I don't even care that the food was cold but the fact that the meat (chicken/brisket) tasted like this was ridiculous. What I'm deducting from this is that maybe if you want real bbq, you'd want to go to those places you see on TV shows where they cook the meat all day and open their shop for only a few hours. I doubt you'll find a decent one in some downtown restaurants. Very disappointing.

I didn't hate it, but the food isn't fantastic either. Our expectations were a little low because the area is so tourist-y, but we wanted to try a bit of barbecue right on the Riverwalk. We snagged a small table right next to the water, which was really lovely. I had a pepper turkey platter, and the turkey was surprisingly moist and flavorful! My husband had the turkey on a sandwich, and he questioned the bread choice. The mac and cheese was boring, and the beans were a bit underdone. The barbecue sauce was fine. The quality of the food doesn't live up to the price, but it was a still good experience overall.

So me & my girlfriend wanted a BBQ spot while we were downtown place hoping, there was other places we saw but we chose "The County Line" what got me was looking online first & seeing the "all you can eat" & me being someone that likes to get full I had to see if they could keep up with me. We sat at the bar waited for a table but ended eating there, Henry was our bartender & he was great. The food took about 30 minutes or so but when it come & I saw the portions I was like wow. I smoked meats all the time I love barbecuing & so I had to see if it was worth me not getting on a grill myself. The flavor of the food was okay I've had plenty home made briskets from myself & others that have tasted way better but theirs wasn't bad. Their smoked turkey breast was super tender, as was all their food. The sausage was great my girlfriend loved it. Their sides were super good to our liking that potato salad & mac & cheese was bomb. I got the all you can eat plate which comes with all the meats and all the sides let me tell you I was full off that plate. & when asked if it was really all I could eat I was told that if I wanted refills on my food till 2a.m Henry said we could make it happen. When I ordered round 2 just to see if what that looked like its like they gave me the same or even more food. I couldn't take a single bite off the 2nd plate because I was full from the first. Drinks aren't bad they'll run you about 8-14$ each overall if there's ever a place I want to go to for barbecue "The County Line" has my money for sure. Great experience.

The County Line was right there on the Riverwalk and the menu looked good. We were able to get a small table right next to the river so it did have a nice atmosphere. Where I was disappointed was with the quality of food. The food wasn't bad but not what I was expecting for texas bbq. The meats tasted like they were prepared quickly and weren't as tender as smoke bbq would be. The potato salad was good but the Mac and Cheese reminded me of Stoffers. This was a nice convenient place to eat bur don't expect great texas quality bbq.

I did the all you can eat and I just focused on brisket and some ribs. Best brisket I've ever had. I downed about 1.5 pounds of brisket before I had to stop. Worth it!!!

There was a hair in my brisket sandwich. They replaced it but acted like it was no big deal. No discount nothing. I guess its a usual thing for them. Soda tasted bad too.

Nice place but the food was not good. Very bland and hardly no seasoning. There is a way to cook good food and give it flavor. Im from Saint Louis and this food was not great. The host was great but our waiter didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. Not attentive with making sure we were good. Nice atmosphere outside on the river walk
