Wonderful American drinks and dishes....and i am not talking about Burgers, Pizza or Hot Dogs....very original
Nestled on a quaint street in Greenwich Village, this restaurant was our favorite of the week. We shared delicious dishes like Rarebit, Carrots, Spoon bread and Brussel sprouts. The roast chicken was amazing! The atmosphere is warm and charming, like you've stepped back in time. While very busy on a Saturday night, it was easy to talk and relax at our table. Can't wait to go back!
There’s a reason this patty melt made it into the recent NYT article on the dish! Lovely spot for a cozy meal on a cold winter’s day.
On the menu is bone marrow on thick, rustic bread heaped with chicken-of-the-woods mushrooms, and jugged rabbit with shallots. The hearty, offbeat food may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly an original.
An absolute fave. And a special and historical spot going back to Grange Hall days. The food is heavy on deliciously prepared vegetables, like the buttermilk dressing salad (that I could eat everyday). The potted shrimp and kippered trout are delicious. As is the half chicken.
Great food and atmosphere. Server pre-selected 22% tip though. Sneaky and entitled move.
What a restaurant! Cozy, casual but perfectly organized and professional. Service was spot on and the food was incredible. Freshly made and presented beautifully. Can't recommend enough!
