The food is simply delish the collards will melt in your mouth and will make you crave for more ,the chicken is fried and sooo sooo moist the Mac ‘n cheese oh my , shut your mouth if you say it needs improvement ! Everything I had was the absolute pleasure in eating It made me want more from the corn bread , beans and rice , cabbage , salad dessert! They even cater ! I had the wonderful dining experience due to a funeral that they provided food for , as well as the hospitality is beyond words ❣️ This is food that is truly good for the soul and stomach May Almighty God continue to bless this business ! It is a place that is truly needed in Ma never mind Cambridge . It is worth the travel to receive the dining experience and extraordinary delicious Delicacies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I will 100% be coming back here multiple times and ordering the whole menu bit-by bit. The chicken was excellently seasoned (lots of black pepper) and the Coast Sauce was terrific, vinegary, floral, and spicy. Think it might be some sort of blended Scotch bonnet sauce -- really good. The collards were juicy and fulfilling. The use of turkey tastes great, and keeps it an available option for non-pork eaters. Goes great with the Coast Sauce. The cornbread muffin was super moist and not too sweet. Only problem is it's a bit too small! Mac and cheese is top-notch. Sometimes you get mac and cheese at a BBQ place and you lose the cheese, but it was WICKED cheesy. I am considering coming back here and ordering a tray of this (if they offer it). Place had just enough seating and everyone that came in told us they've been coming for decades. There really is no competition for good soul food in Boston. Feels like a lot of other soul food has been upscaled too much -- these guys are experienced and know how to do it right.

This place has the best southern food in the Boston area-we are pretty much certain. The candied seet potatoes are too awesome, collard greens, which can often be disappointing, are perfect. You can actually taste that you're eating catfish!!! Staff very careful and welcoming. The place is quite small. Just, maybe 4 seats if you want to stay. It's on a residential street leading to Central Sq, so likely parking may be a problem, however we have never had a problem

This Cafe is here to stay. Definitely a must go for soul food aficionados.

Food that tastes like what a hug feels like. 2023 UPDATE: The food is still good. The chicken is truly blessed. Please keep this place in business, I'm begging you.

I just had to respond to this comment down below Quentin Brandel.. lol. Dude you sound like a little biiitch crying. Instead of asking for your money back, how about you just don’t go there no more. Just like a little flaming twinkle toes girl… unreal . The food is bomb and the little girl just wanted extra salt to raise her blood pressure. Somebody get him a box of tissue and some tampons please

Although the food is good, the portions are small and they cheat you out of their chicken breast. It's one piece cut into two PCs. Why not just give people two PCs of actual chicken breast especially for the amount being charged!!!!. When you know better, you do better!!!!. Prices would be fine if the portions matched the pricing!!!
