GOOD: 1. Food has always been great on every visit. 2. Baked oatmeal... holy cow!... who knew it could be that good! 3. There are two distinct dining areas. A smaller, vintage area has a more quaint vibe, while the other larger, open area has a more industrial vibe. Both are nice. ---- CAUTIONS: 1. Service has been fast on some visits, but slow on others. Service has been exceptionally wonderful on some visits, but cold on others. A mixed bag. ---- SUMMARY: Overall, even though service might be a roll of the dice, I really enjoy the food at ambiance at this cafe. Recommended. Vegetarian options: Choose-your-own topping omelets available. Parking: There is a small, free, lot adjacent to cafe. There is a very large lot only 1/2-block away that is usually free (when there are events at a neighboring concert hall, it becomes a paid lot).
Huevos Ranchero are excellent. Meatball sub is very good.
I was really excited to try this place but was disappointed. To start off my water had old pieces of food floating in it. Then I pulled a 6 inch piece of blond hair out of my mouth while eating my biscuits and gravy. I didn’t even eat the rest of my food after that. I took maybe 2 bites . The waitress seemed overwhelmed the entire time and was forgetting multiple things during our visit but she was very nice and my whole bill was waived. I think the kitchen staff need to start wearing hair nets because not one person was wearing one in the kitchen (I had a table that looked directly in there). While using the restroom I also saw a cook only rinse his hands off with water…no soap after taking a dump and then walk right into the kitchen and start making peoples food. I imagine he was wearing gloves but that’s still nasty. I probably wouldn’t eat here again. The food however did look really good and the grits looked amazing. I wish I could have tried them.
We ended up going during kind of a busy time for Saturday lunch around 1:30 or so. The servings were generous and really tasty. My friend ordered the cake and it was a ginormous piece. I think she really enjoyed it. I tried some of my husband's tater tot appetizer and it was really amazing. Also, I was happy to see there is a diaper changing table and the handicap bathroom.
Food was great, service was exceptional. We sat outside, but plenty of indoor seating.
Great lunch menu at pretty reasonable prices. Huge space overall, but the space isn't well utilized so it was quite noisy and crowded when I was there. Variety of menu items makes it accessible to groups with diverse tastes. Parking can be tricky.
Great tasting food! Good service also! Cool looking location!
