The meals and appetizers are fantastic as well as the ambience. The service was far from satisfactory. We only received one round of drinks, which took agonizing long to get. After our main course was provided, we never received a follow-up to ensure everything was satisfactory. We also did not receive an option for more beverages. Our server ceased to exist after appetizers were delivered. Clearly her side work was priority. Would not recommend. Even after speaking to the 'Manager named Matthew' nothing was resolved. We received an apology for the service and a 'We'll make it up to you on your next visit.". This means nothing for a person visiting on holiday. To make things worse, our non-existent server had the audacity to thank us for visit on our way out. What a clueless, bumbling idiot.

We had a Sunday roast 17th March …we Did not enjoy the food experience at all.. staff lovely. . BUT, when we ordered the olives, my husband witnessed the waitress in the little room at the front where she placed them into the serving bowel, pick up two, put salt on them and eat them, then proceeded to put salt on ours with the same fingers she had in her mouth… (she didn’t know he saw this, until he asked her, how are the olives, she said they are lovely, he said yeah I know I saw you eat them…she didn’t know where to look. 1st choice of soup ran out, second was carrot which he gave a go, presentation was good, but was a bland bowel of tasteless gloop ..so far, not a good start.. The main course arrived, looked good, steak came out in a separate sharing plate (we asked for medium) Husband dug in, but I took one look and thought this thing is still mooing .. I had to send the steak back to the kitchen twice, just to get it not bleeding still. Hubby agreed it did come out rare… even for him..I couldn’t eat the steak, it was too chewy and half of it was chewed and spat out, the rest was waisted still on the plate.. At this point I didn’t even want to have a dessert.. we just got the bill and left.. On the journey home the hubby had an upset tummy, and was on the loo a while once we reached home.. In the morning I myself had the runs… So for us, we won’t be back.. We’ve been twice now, and we find it over rated, and defiantly not nice seeing waitresses eating food and licking their fingers then putting salt in our food with the same Fingers… whether it was any of that or not that caused us to feel awful after it… Sadly, It was all very off putting …

I asked for a well done fillet steak. They butterfly cut it but despite this it was still a 40min wait for meal. When it arrived I was astounded at how small it was. I could have got the whole steak on the lid of a small jam jar. My husband and grandson also got fillet steaks which were slightly larger but honestly I have cooked better myself at home and quicker. They did remove my own steak from the bill, as I think they could see themselves that it was extremely tiny and not at all worth the £37.00 they charge for the steak only. The final bill was £114.00 for the two steaks we paid for with chips and onion rings. We paid £125.00 as we always leave a tip. It was not Mels fault the steak was tiny, had the chef had any sort of pride he would not, nor should have, served my steak. It was embarrassing. I doubt we will return. It had been good on our first visit, but this time, it was not worth the journey or the price.

Food excellent as always and really good portion sizes on the set menu. Little bit slow on service on entering and at times had to ask more than usual Also had to ensure a new bill was provided for overcharged items but sorted out without issue. Very enjoyable all round

The food was great. Staff was okay however when my girlfriend opened her napkin to wipe her mouth there was a huge red smudge as if it had been used by someone else. So unhygienic and frankly disgusting. It was our night out after a long time so decided not to cause a scene. The staff apologised but that was it. Really, really poor form.

Starters and desserts were ridiculously small. They served us bread that was undercooked, and frankly corn on the cob has nothing to do on a Sunday roast. The waiter lacked professionalism and was intrusive. Overall not a pleasant experience and way overpriced.

Phenomenal experience here. The atmosphere and service were faultless, and the steak was one of the best I’ve had in Glasgow. Will definitely be back!
